Detailed review & photos “Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto”

The exterior was a chic colored Japanese style building. It had just been renovated and it looked beautiful.

The entrance was clean with a calm atmosphere.

Like the exterior and entrance, the lobby also had a very Japanese atmosphere. There were plenty of sofas, so I did not mind waiting.

Even though there were two semi-double beds and a another bed for my child, the room still felt big.

The lamp next to the bed made the room feel calm.

The bed was comfortable and my back did not hurt after sleeping.

Buildings such as hotels and technical schools were right by the hotel, because the hotel is located near the station.

The bathtub/shower, toilet and sink were all in one bathroom, but it did not feel tight at all.

The shower head was very large, and the water pressure was strong enough. Laura Ashley’s shampoo and conditioner that was prepared had a nice fragrance, and my hair became very smooth after using it.

The shower curtain smelled like sweat which was a little uncomfortable.

The amenities were in a special wooden box. There was a mouthwash, body towels, comb, women’s skin care set (liquid cleaning, moisture lotion, 1 moisture milk each), hair brush, toothbrushes, cotton swabs, shaving gel, men’s lotion, hair styling, hair tonic and a shower cap. The women’s skin care set is of Pola cosmetics which I do not see in other hotels.

There were slippers, deodorant spray, shoe horn, etiquette brush, disposable shoe polish sheet and hangers in the closet.

There was an ice bucket and an ice tong, beer and bottles of water in the refrigerator, and whiskey in the drawer to the desk.

There were cups, tea, coffee, powdered cream, and sugar in the drawer along with the whiskey.

There was a restaurant area at the first basement floor.

On the 14th floor was a revolving restaurant with a 360-degree view.

The view was very nice, and the night view was especially beautiful.

Breakfast venue.

There was a restaurant on the first floor where I had breakfast. Japanese and Western dishes were arranged in a buffet style, and there was a lot to pick from.

There was a small shop on the left side of the entrance on the first floor of the hotel.

Yatsuhashi and other sweets and pickles, eco bags, socks, Nishijin weaving ties, etc. were being sold. There weren’t many customers in the store.

On the first floor was a business center with an ATM, a currency exchange machine, a computer and a printer. Laundry was in the changing room of the indoor pool, but nothing else.

I was able to swim comfortably in the pool.

There was a jacuzzi and warm-up room, so I was able to relax.

There were buildings such as the Kyoto Tower, Kyoto Aquarium and Yodobashi Camera. At Kyoto Station near the hotel, there were station buildings such as Isetan and Asti Kyoto, and it was a place where you an enjoy both eating and shopping.

There was also a photo studio where women dressed in Maiko and Oiran, and men dressed in hakama and Shinsengumi costumes. A little ways ahead was the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Nijo Castle and Fushimi Inari Shrine. In addition, there is the Uzumasa movie village about a 15 minute train ride away, so this is a hotel convenient for sightseeing.

The nearest station was the Kyoto Station and a shuttle will take you to and from the hotel. I arrived at the hotel in about 10 minutes.

There were many buildings around the hotel.

There were guests from all over the word staying. On the other hand, there were not many Japanese staying at the hotel. Because it was the cherry blossom season, there were may tourists.
