What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception

The hotel looked like a business hotel from a distance.

The entrance was lit up with warm colors creating a nice atmosphere. It was Japanese style which matched the concept of Kyoto.

What is the Twin Bed Room like?

IMG_0127(4)

The bathroom was on the right and there were hooks on the wall on the left.

IMG_0127 copy copy

The room was simple and only had minimal facilities, but there was no particular inconvenience. In addition, it was nice that there were many mirrors in the room.

IMG_0127(2)

There were two single beds, but it felt slightly smaller than the average bed size, but it may have been because I am not sued to sleeping in a single size bed. The bed itself was comfortable to sleep on.

IMG_0127(18)

There was a nice Japanese design above the beds.

IMG_0127(19)

There was a clock and a TV remote on the bedside table.

IMG_0127(21)

There was a window at the back of the room. I was hoping to get a nice view of the old towns, but all I could see were street lights and cars passing by. I could see Kyoto Tower in the distance, but not unless I leaned towards the left side of the window.

Bathroom

IMG_0127(20)

The bathroom was clean and white. The bathtub/shower, sink and toilet were all in one room.

IMG_0127(7)

It took a long time to fill-up the bathtub which was a little disappointing.

IMG_0127(11)

The water pressure for the shower was a little weak. The shower head was a special type which could spray mist, but I could not figure out how to use it.

IMG_0127(14)

The shampoo, conditioner and body soap had a natural herbal scent and was comfortable to use. It felt nice on my body and hair.

IMG_0127(5)

There were two toothbrushes, a hairbrush, a cotton pack, a razor, and two body sponges. They were simple amenities seen in many hotels.

IMG_0127(16)

The hair dryer was on the shelf in the bedroom.

IMG_0127(8)

A toilet with a Washlet function.

Closet and safe

IMG_0127(22)

There was no closet, but there were hooks on the wall with hangers which was enough for me. Unfortunately, there was no safe, so I felt a little uneasy leaving valuables in the room when I was out.

Mini bar and cafe

IMG_0127(9)

The cafe area was on a shelf. There were cups, glasses, tea bags and an electric kettle.

IMG_0127(6)

There was a fridge, but nothing was inside it.

Hotel surroundings

The hotel was built in an old residential area, and there were many sad looking apartments around. As a result the roads around the hotel felt a little dark late at night. There was a convenience store on the way to the station, but since it is on the other side of the road, it may be a little inconvenient because you have to cross over at the traffic light. I recommend that you shop before getting to the hotel. In addition, there is only a Chinese restaurant next to the hotel where you can eat, so it is better to have breakfast at the hotel if you have a tight schedule.

Staff and guests

The same man checked me in and out and he was very polite and explained about the hotel with detail.

IMG_0127 (2) copy copy

I saw a couple of guests in the elevator and they were all Chinese. There were guests of many ages and I saw young people staying with friends and families with children.

Access

It was about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, the best hub station in Kyoto, and a 7-minute walk to the nearest Tofukuji Station. You have to cross the river to Tofukuji Station, and there are big streets with cars, but there are not many people walking, so it may be a little dangerous at night.

Summary

I was very happy because I was able to spend time in this hotel without any inconveniences. I am used to visiting Kyoto, so I knew to some extent where the hotel was located, but it may be a little inconvenient for newcomers and foreign tourists. It is close to Kyoto Station and the transportation is good, but not many taxi drivers knew about this hotel, so it was a little hard to explain which way to go. It may be a little inconvenient for elderly people or foreigners who do not speak Japanese to come to this hotel.
