What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception

IMG_6243 copy

The hotel is located very close to Namba Subway Station, in a lively location along Midosuji. It’s a former site of the former Kabukiza Theater, and its exterior is a characteristic building that inherits its traditional design.

IMG_6248 copy

With 19 floors above ground, the high-rise building is impressive with a delicate and dynamic design with multiple aluminum fins.

IMG_6358 copy

The first-floor lobby was glass-covered and open-air to the second floor. The hotel reception is located on the 11th floor.

IMG_6224 copy

There was an art work hanging from the ceiling. Contemporary art such as objects and paintings are displayed throughout the building.

What is the Standard Room like?

IMG_6183 copy

IMG_6121 copy

The room was spacious with natural colors and a calm design.

IMG_6124 copy

Although the window were rather small, the size of the standard double room was slightly different from 25.6 sqm to 31 sqm, and some rooms have larger windows.

IMG_6125 copy

The double sized bed was big with a rather stiff mattress, but it was comfortable to sleep on.

IMG_6134 copy

There was a touch panel that could be used to operate alarm clocks, lighting, air conditioning, and a “do not wake up” sign. There was also an outlet.

IMG_6138 copy

A TV across the bed.

IMG_6139 copy

A desk next to the TV.

IMG_6141 copy

An outlet and a LAN port on the desk.

IMG_6142 copy

IMG_6143 copy

IMG_6145 copy

A one person sofa with a table by the window.

IMG_6157 copy

There was a balcony, but I was not able to open the window.

IMG_6149 copy

Marui was built opposite and the view was not good, but if the room opened with a bigger window, it might be a good view of the cityscape.

IMG_6157 copy

Looking down, Midosuji was lit up with the seasonal pattern or along Midosuji, and the illuminations were beautiful at night.

IMG_6211 copy

There is a window with a sliding door between the bathroom and the bedroom.

Artworks in the hotel

Contemporary art works are displayed throughout the hotel. Each room are decorated with a different painting, but there are many works in the public space, including works by famous artists such as Yayoi Kusama, and some of them have billions of works. It was a space where such works were casually exhibited and you can enjoy them up close.

Staff and guests

The staff were always waiting at the front desk and were very polite. There were staff who were not Japanese.

IMG_6448 (1) copy

Due to the characteristics of the hotel, there are likely to be many foreign tourists and calm executives, but since the location is highly convenient, various types of guests were staying as well.

Summary

I had a nice stay at “Hotel Royal Classic Osaka.” You can enjoy many artworks in the hotel. It was a cozy hotel where Japanese traditional beauty and modern art were in harmony and somewhere warmth was felt. Located right next to Namba Station, it was very convenient and a lively place, but it felt as if I was in a different world in the hotel.
