IMG_0527(1) copy

There was a closet on the left and a bathroom on the right.

IMG_0527(4) copy

Air conditioner.

IMG_0527(19) copy_Fotor

The room had the color yellow and red used here and there which was cute and stylish. However, it seemed a little dark.

IMG_0527(8) copy

Some parts of the room was not cleaned thoroughly.

IMG_0527(11) copy

My room was connected with the room next door.

IMG_0527(14) copy

There were two double size beds. The sheets were a little stiff, but the mattress was soft and comfortable to sleep on.

IMG_0527(30) copy

There was a towel art on the bed.

IMG_0527(16) copy

There were tables on both sides of the bed, but there were only outlets on one side which was a little inconvenient.

IMG_0527(9) copy

Foot light.

IMG_0527(23) copy

TV across the bed.

IMG_0527(31) copy

Luggage stand next to the TV.

IMG_0527(20) copy

Two red chairs next to the window.

IMG_0527(15) copy

There was a window that could not be opened. The white lines on the window made it hard to see the outside. Also, the window was not very big, so light did not come in making the room seem darker.

IMG_0527(26) copy

The room I stayed in had a view of houses lined up.

Facilities in the hotel

IMG_0527 (31) copy

There was an outdoor pool. It was deep, so it may not be suitable for children to swim in. The pool is open from 8am to 8pm. There was almost no one swimming in the pool during my stay.

IMG_0527 (33) copy

If you look down you can see the entrance area.

IMG_0527 (36) copy

You can borrow life jackets and floats.

IMG_0527 (34) copy

There were chairs by the pool. However, there were no towels prepared by the pool, so you will need to bring your own from your room.

IMG_0527 (32) copy

Bathroom by the pool.

IMG_0527 (35) copy

The pool was lit up at night and it was beautiful. However, the hotel faces the main street, so I could hear cars passing by. The pool is not located on the upper floor, so you cannot enjoy the scenery.

IMG_0527 (37) copy

A small gym.

IMG_0527 (38) copy

You can also use the meeting room if you make a reservation.

Hotel Surroundings

The hotel faces the main street, so the sound of cars passing by bothered me. However, it is easy to catch a taxi or tuk-tuk in front of the hotel. There was a market for locals in a narrow alley right next to the hotel. There are no tourists walking in the narrow alleys. There were houses around the hotel with small children running around. The sidewalk on the main street in front of the hotel was narrow and dangerous.

Staff and Guests

The staff were friendly and helpful. The waiters and waitresses were also polite during breakfast. However, the housekeepers did not seem to understand English, so I had trouble communicating with them.

IMG_0527 (3) copy

There seemed to be many locals staying at this hotel. There were many couples, families and people on business trips. I did not see any Westerners.

Access

It takes about 40 minutes by taxi from Don Muang Airport. Using the dispatch service app, it cost 500 baht from the airport to the hotel. There are two convenience stores around the hotel, but no other shops. Since the hotel faces the main street it felt safe around the hotel. Even though I walked along the main street in front of the hotel at night, I didn’t feel any danger, but I think it’s dangerous because it’s dark at night when there are no tourists in the alley. The hotel is located in the Siam district, but it is a 20 minute walk to the nearest and largest shopping mall. I used a tuk-tuk or a vehicle dispatch service app, but there are times when the roads are crowded and there are times when I have to make a detour due to many one-way streets. The price from the hotel to the area with many shopping malls is about 100 to 200 baht for both tuk-tuk and vehicle dispatch service.

Summary

I had a nice stay at this hotel, but it would have been more convenient to stay in the center of the city. It seemed like a good location when making a reservation, but in reality it was difficult to walk 20 minutes from the shopping mall, so I had to use the dispatch service and tuk-tuk after all. Also, there were not many restaurants nearby, so if you act early in the morning, it’s a hassle to go out all day or take a taxi to the center just to have dinner. However, the staff were very kind and friendly, so that was good. Breakfast was buffet style and the menu did not change much, but it was delicious, so I did not get tired even staying four nights. The location was not the best, but the hotel was reasonable with kind and helpful staff.
