The primary reason for choosing "Hotel Ocean Kokusai Dori" is because I was staying with my children and this hotel has many services for children. I wanted to stay near Kokusai Dori on the first day of Okinawa and was looking for a hotel. The price was 5,600 yen per adult, and for infants it was free. Also, it was nice that the station was nearby.

What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception

The hotel is more like a business hotel. A big signboard with a cute illustration of Shisa stood out.

There were rental bicycles at the entrance.

The lobby was a little old, but there was a kids space and a candy house that will make the kids happy. It is a very nice hotel for families with kids.

There was a microwave oven and rental items such as a fan, a blood pressure monitor, a scale, and a humidifier by the elevator.

What is the Hollywood Twin Room like?

The room was small. The bed was large and there was no other furniture such as a sofa or desk, so I had the impression that it was a room only for sleeping. The room was clean compared to the exterior of the hotel. It is more of a hotel for children to play in the kids space on the first floor lobby than to relax in the room.

It was a Hollywood twin room, so two beds were put together and it was quite big. The mattress was comfortable to sleep on.

The sink, toilet and bathtub were all in one room. It was cleaner than I expected.

Amenity were prepared on the counter, and all necessary things were prepared. In addition, children’s amenities were prepared in the lobby. The lobby was full of children’s supplies, such as pajamas, pillows and shampoos for children. It is very unusual for hotels to be children friendly.

There was a cafe corner near the window. There were Ryukyu style glasses. There was only tea prepared in the room, but there were free drinks available 24 hours a day at the lounge on the first floor.

Hotel Surroundings

The hotel is close to the station, and the street is Kokusai Dori, so it is safe because there are many people and cars on the street. There are several restaurants and hotels around the hotel. Beyond Makishi Station, you will find yourself at sightseeing spots with many souvenir shops. It was nice to be able to enjoy myself at Kokusai Dori and walk back to the hotel easily.

Staff and Guests

The staff were very helpful and kind to children. They even gave toys to my children when checking out. They all gave me a very good impression.

There were many students on a field trip and families. I think that it is not suitable for those who want to stay at a quiet hotel, because there were many children in the lobby and at the restaurant.

Access

“Makishi Station” is the nearest station to the hotel. It was a 3 minute walk from the station, but it took a little longer with suitcases. Kokusai Dori is right in front of the hotel. There are shops near the hotel and once you go passed “Makishi Station” you will be in a downtown area at once.

Summary

I arrived in Okinawa in the evening, so it was nice to be near the airport and to be able to go to Kokusai Dori at night. Watching the children playing in the kids’ space was very enjoyable. It was a perfect and reasonable hotel for us. It is highly recommended for those who want to go sightseeing in Naha and visit Kokusai Dori. It is a very children friendly hotel.
