"DoubleTree by Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort" is an oceanfront resort hotel overlooking the west coast of Okinawa. Adjacent to one of the largest commercial facilities in Okinawa, "Mihama American Village," you can enjoy shopping and enjoy the exotic cityscape. The hotel has an outdoor pool and other facilities such as a gym and a spa. This is a relatively new hotel that opened in June 2018.

The hotel was facing the beach and was adjacent to the “Mihama American Village.” It was a 5-story simple looking building.

The lobby was not big, but the large windows made the space feel bright.

What is the Ocean View Room with Balcony like?
Guest room entrance door.
There was a bathroom on the right and a closet on the left.
The room was about 30 square meters big. It was a simple room using natural colors. I was able to spend a very comfortable time.
The bed was a king size bed. It was big and comfortable to sleep on.
There was an outlet, USB port, light switch, alarm clock, phone and a notepad on the nightstand.
TV and desk across the bed.
The TV was mounted on the wall.
There was an outlet and USB port by the desk.
Pajamas
A sofa and table by the window.

There was a balcony overlooking the beach.
There were two chairs and a table on the balcony.
Unfortunately, it was cloudy on the day I stayed, but I was told that you can see the sunset if the sky is clear.
I was also able to see the American Village. The buildings lit up at night were beautiful.

Bathroom
Bathroom door
The toilet, sink and washroom were separate.
The sink was very clean.
Amenities included a toothbrush, shower cap, hair comb, cotton set, razor, Hilton original shampoo, conditioner, body soap and a bar of soap.
There was a magnified mirror which was convenient for putting makeup on.
Hair dryer
A toilet was next to the sink.
It had a washlet function.
The washroom was very spacious.
The bathroom was big enough to stretch my legs and relax in.
There was an overhead shower and a hand shower. The water pressure was strong enough.

Closet and safe
The closet was a the entrance with a door that opened both ways.
There was plenty of space to store my belongings.
Iron board, baggage rack and slippers.
There was a shelf on the other side with an iron an a safe.

I had breakfast at “Matilla” on the 2nd floor.
There were big windows with a view of the ocean.
There were Okinawan dishes and Western dishes as well.
Eggs cooked on the spot.
Dessert, fruit and yogurt.
Tropical juices, such as mango juice, flat lemon juice and so on.

There was a roof top bar on the 3rd floor with a nice view of the sunset.

Outdoor Pool
There was an outdoor pool at the hotel, but it was closed during winter time. There was a slide and an observatory that had a nice view. You can also go straight to the beach from this pool. You can swim in the pool at the “Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort” as well.

The hotel is adjacent to “Mihama Town Resort American Village” with many shops and restaurants. It is in a very convenient location with a convenience store and a drugstore nearby as well.

Staff and Guests
The staff were courteous and I had no complaints about the hospitality at this hotel. As for the guests, their were many young Japanese and also foreign tourists staying.

It is about 40 minutes by car from Naha Airport. There was also a limousine bus going between the hotel and Naha Airport. It was about a 15-minute walk from the route bus-stop “Kuwae,” so the location was good.

Summary
“DoubleTree by Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort” is a relatively new hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. It was convenient to have a toilet and bathroom that were separate. The view from the ocean view room was very nice. It was unfortunate that the weather was cloudy during my stay, but if the weather is sunny the sunset will be beautiful from your room. There was a pool, beach and commercial facilities nearby, so it was a very convenient hotel to stay at.
