Detailed review & photos “Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort”

What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception

IMG_1222 (5)

The building is slightly on a hill and you can see the hotel from a distance.

IMG_1222 (3)

The hotel is a 9 story building that is built along the beach and most of the rooms have nice ocean views.

IMG_1222 (10)

The main entrance is located on the third floor which is used when there is a transfer.

IMG_1222 (12)

The entrance seen from inside the hotel.

IMG_1222 (6)

There was an entrance in front of the parking lot on the first floor, and those who did not use the shuttle bus often came in and out from here.

IMG_1222 (13)

It was a very bright and spacious lobby.

IMG_1222 (8)

There is a big window with a nice view of the ocean.

IMG_1222 (9)

There is a kid’s corner in the lobby, so it is nice for families with small children.

IMG_1222 (7)

At the front desk, staff dressed in uniforms with an Acer motif welcomed me. The front desk was full of multinational staff.

What is the Ocean View Room like?

IMG_1222 (40)

Guest room door.

IMG_1222 (22)

The lamp by the entrance was beautiful.

IMG_1222 (38)

I stayed in a twin room for three people and it was very spacious. A room with a simple yet sophisticated impression with blue walls. There were interiors where you could feel Okinawa everywhere. The additional amenities are arranged with a little playfulness. There were so many outlets in a convenient location which was very convenient. The only issue was that the light was s little dim at night.

IMG_1222 (41)

The blankets were ironed very well and it felt a little hard, but the mattress was soft and comfortable, so I fell asleep right away.

IMG_1222 (32)

Night wear prepared on the bed.

IMG_1222 (23)

Across the bed was a TV, desk and a luggage stand. On the desk were bottles of water.

IMG_1222 (21)

The room seen from the window.

IMG_1222 (35)

I could enjoy a view of the ocean form the window.

IMG_1222 (43)

The balcony was a little small, but there was a table and chairs so I was able to enjoy the view.

IMG_1222 (20)

You can not hear the sound of waves because it is not a beach, but the blue sky was very enjoyable.

Bathroom

IMG_1222 (31)

The bathroom was spacious and there was a sink in front of the bathtub. The toilet and sink were separated.

IMG_1222 (29)

Since there is no handrail in the bathtub, if you are worried about bathing, I recommend staying in the universal room.

IMG_1222 (28)

There was a large window by the bathtub so that you can see the view of the outside. There is a blind, so if you need some privacy you can close them.

IMG_1222 (19)

There is an overhead shower and a removable hand shower. Both water pressures were average and the temperature adjustment was easy.

IMG_1222 (33)

There was a hook in the bathroom.

IMG_1222 (24)

A toilet.

IMG_1222 (34)

The sink was spacious with a magnifying mirror.

IMG_1222 (37)

Amenities were also provided on the sink. Amenities included soap, shampoo, conditioner, botty wash, body lotion, toothbrush, shower cap, hair band, comb, shave, cotton, and cotton swab. New amenities were provided everyday.

Restaurants and shops in the hotel

IMG_1222 (50)

There were several restaurants in the hotel, but this time I had breakfast at the buffet restaurant “Suriyun” on the third floor.

IMG_1222 (47)

There was a terrace seating.

IMG_1222 (46) copy copy

There were many Okinawan dishes.

IMG_1222 (49)

Menues changed everyday, so I did not get tired of the food.

IMG_1222 (45) copy copy

It was very high quality.

IMG_1222 (51)

There was also an Italian restaurant called “Colente” on the first floor.

IMG_1222 (52)

A lounge called “Mar” in the lobby on the third floor.

IMG_1222 (54)

On the first floor was “Fe-nu Shopping Plaza.”

IMG_1222 (53)

They were selling Okinawa souvenirs (miscellaneous goods, jewelry) and beach goods. It was open until 10pm.

Facilities in the hotel

IMG_1222 (58)

The hotel had two outdoor pools; a “lagoon pool” and a “cascade pool” which could be accessed with a room key. There were several families swimming in the pool. Also, at the time of check-in, you can get the key of “Double Tree by Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort,” so it seems that you can use the two outdoor pools here.

IMG_1222 (55)

The Lagoon Pool had two water slides and a shallow pool for children.

IMG_1222 (56)

There were deck chairs and parasols by the pool.

IMG_1222 (59)

There was a garden that continued from the pool. It was designed for people who want to take a walk, and there were plenty of tables and chairs to relax. Flowers such as hibiscuses were blooming beautifully. It was a fun place to stroll after watching the sunset because it was lit up at night.

Hotel Surroundings

There is an American Village near the hotel. At night, the whole area was lit up and there were many people walking around. There are places to eat everywhere. There is also a popular yakiniku restaurant called “Ryukyu beef” nearby, but it has been so prosperous in recent years that it is difficult to eat there unless you make a reservation a few months in advance. There are about three convenience stores near the hotel. Aeon Chatan is also recommended to buy souvenirs late at night. It is a lively area, but the hotel is so big that you will not hear the noise form the outside in your room.

Staff and Guests

The staff were multinational. As it was a well-known hotel, the service was thorough. The cleaning staff not only greeted me, but told me to get home safely. The explanations were not only detailed, but I also enjoyed having a conversation with the staff.

IMG_1222 (4)

Due to national holidays, there were many guests staying from China. About 80% were Chinese and about 20% were Japanese, Korean, and Westerners.

Access

Because it was a hotel located in the central part of Okinawa main island, it was easy to get to sightseeing spots. There is also a direct bus linking the hotel and the airport, which takes about 40 minutes from the airport. There is a place where you can go sightseeing on the way from Naha to Chatan, so in that case, I think that you should go to the hotel using the route bus. If you take a local bus, the stop at “Mihama American Village Entrance” is the closest to the hotel which is less than 15 minutes on foot. From July 1 this year, direct buses to the Churaumi area via the hotel have started operating, making it more convenient.

Summary

I had a nice and comfortable stay at this hotel. I think that it is in a convenient location for those who plan to go around the sightseeing spots of the main island in general. Although it was a resort hotel that enjoyed the scenery unique to Okinawa, it was a vibrant city-wide hotel with plenty of shops and restaurants. In addition, in the selection of hotels so far, convenience has been emphasized, but if high-quality services are added to it, I felt that satisfaction beyond expectations was obtained. It is a good impression that there were staff members who always took care of customers, such as careful cleaning of guest rooms and waiting time at check-in and breakfast hall entrance. It was a very friendly hotel.
