"The Capitol Hotel Tokyu" is located in Nagata-cho, Chiyoda-ku, and you can go directly to the National Assembly Building Station and Tameike Sanno Station, but it is adjacent to the Hie Shrine. The hotel has a modern Japanese feel and it has a calm atmosphere even though it is in the center of a big city.

The hotel is a gray, simple and modern 29 story building adjacent to Hie Shrine, so the surrounding area is very green.

The lobby is spacious and luxurious with a modern feel. This is an area designed by an architect named Kengo Sakai who also designed the new National Stadium, which will be the main venue of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games in 2020.
In the main lobby, there was a nice flower arrangement displayed. The flower arrangement changes every month, so you can enjoy the transition of every season.

In front of the reception desk, the seasonal patterns of before Tanabata or bamboo and rattan were displayed beautifully.

There were sofas in front of the reception desk. Here, an art work called “Untitled” drawn by Mr. Momoka Shibata was displayed. It is said that the Beatles who came to Japan in 1966 were impressed with the brush and bought the exact same one.
There were three reception desks. At the back of the counter, an art work called “Hoyo” drawn by Mr. Tohuta Shibata, who was 97 years old, was displayed after the hotel was rebuilt.

What is the Deluxe King Room like?

At the side of the entrance door, there was a light switch, and also a “do not wake up me” lamp switch.
There was a closet, a bathroom and a shelf with a cafe corner on the right side of the room.
Japanese style paintings were displayed.
The guest room was spacious, and light came in through the big window so it was very bright, making the room feel open.
The room had a Shoji, so the room had a nice modern Japanese style.
The king-size bed which was a little lower than average beds was comfortable to sleep on.
At night, I could see the nice night view from my bed, and I was able to spend an extravagant time.
There was a lamp on the bedside table.
There was also a remote control to open and close the curtains, a phone, tissues, and an alarm clock on the other bedside table.
The alarm was also with the lighting switch panel. In addition, it was convenient because there was an outlet on the table.
There was a TV, a desk and a chair opposite the bed.
At the side of the TV, there were flowers.

There was also a smartphone available to use free of charge.
In addition, on the desk, there was also a socket and an outlet with a cover.
There was a sofa and a table by the window.
Japanese snacks were provided on the table, and it was delicious.
There was a wide window in room and I was able to enjoy the view of Tokyo.
It is a privilege of this hotel is that you can see the Parliament from the room.
From my room on the east side, I could also see other buildings in Toranomon Hills.
I could also see the Parliament that was lit up at night.
Even just looking at this wonderful night view, and my stay was worthwhile.

Bathroom
There was a bathroom was behind the shoji.
If you open this shoji, you can enjoy the cityscape from the large windows as well as the bathroom.
You can get in from the shoji, or the door right by the entrance.
Bathtub.
There was a shower space in front of the bathtub. The shower was a removable shower.
There was also a rain shower and I was able to enjoy two different showers.
Next to the shower, there was shampoo, conditioner and body soap from France under the brand THEMAE.
There was a separate toilet with a washlet function.
The wash basin was also spacious, and the lights around the mirror were bright as well.
Towels were stored under the wash basin. There was also a stool and a health meter under the wash basin.
This case was full of amenities such as toothbrush, comb, hair turban, shower cap, razor, bath salt and cotton.
There was also shampoo, conditioner, body soap and body lotion on the wash basin.

Closet and Safe
The walk-in closet is on the right side of the entrance.
The walk-in closet is connected with the bathroom.
There was enough storage space in the closet and many hangers were prepared.
As there is an iron, and an ironing board, it is good for business use, too.
There was also a bathrobe in the drawer.
Night wears were in the drawer.
Laundry bags.
There were also slippers.
You can get in from the shoji in the bedroom as well.
The safe was in the bedside table drawer. It was a common type of setting a PIN.

Mini bar and cafe
There was a cafe corner in front of the bedroom.
There was a capsule-type coffee machine, an electric kettle and 2 bottles of free water.
There were also cups and glasses.
In the drawer, alcohol such as red wine, gin, whiskey and snacks were prepared.
There was also a refrigerator. In the refrigerator, alcohol such as beer, white wine, and soft drinks were provided.

Restaurants and shops in the hotel
From the inside of the restaurant through the corridor, I could see the peaceful scenery of water and nature.
This time, I had dinner here.

The “Capitol Bar” is on the 4th floor.
The store was a calm adult space that made me forget the noise of the city.
In the store, the photograph of the artist who visited in the past was displayed.
I could see the hotel garden from the bar.
There was also a Chinese restaurant called “Hoshigaoka” on the second floor of the hotel. There are 7 private rooms of various sizes.
On the 3rd floor, there is an all day dining called “ORIGAMI,” where I had breakfast.

The egg dishes are freshly cooked according to your choice.
There was a pastry boutique called “ORIGAMI” on the 2nd floor of the basement. Various sweets and breads were lined up.

Facilities in the hotel
There was a fitness club on the 14th and 15th floor (the reception is on the 15th floor.)
There was a business center with a personal computer and a printer next to the reception on the third floor.
There was also a currency exchange in the business center.
Art works were displayed. The works are changed regularly.
On the 27th floor was a lounge called “The Capitol Lounge SaRyoh.”
Club floor guests can check in and out at this concierge desk to get into the private lounge entrance.
Here, you can enjoy a breakfast and teatime with an western buffet, afternoon tea, cocktail time and a nightcap every hour.
There was also a tatami booth with a tea pot set.
From this club lounge you can see the parliament building up close.

This Sanno Suite is a room of 180 square meters.
This is a living and dining room area with a dining table for eight people and a large sofa.
It is a nice modern interior.
Art works were displayed beside the dining table.
This art work was by Mr. Momoka Shibata.
This large window in the living and dining room overlooks the greenery and the Akasaka skyline simultaneously.
There was a bedroom next to the living and dining room and there was a large bed.
There was also a TV.
There was also a large sofa next to the bed and a desk next to it.
There is also a spacious walk-in closet behind the bed.

A washbasin with stool. There are two washbasins.
At the side of the wash basin, there was also a door leading to the living and dining room.
High quality amenities are also provided.
There were three coffee beans of a Japanese brand called Mi Cafeto.

Environment around the hotel
The Capital Building is just around the corner and it is in the center of the city. Also, because it is adjacent to “Hie Shrine” so there are a lot of trees around the hotel.

Staff and customer base
The staff’s responses were very polite and I was able to feel a Japanese hospitality. Also, there were many foreigners staying, and I saw many foreign staffs at the reception desk.
I often saw European and American business people. Also, at the time of breakfast, there were some Asian groups. About 70% of the guests seemed to be foreigners.

Access
The hotel is connected to the Chiyoda Line/Marunouchi Line National Assembly Building Station and the Subway Nanboku Line/Ginza Line Tameike Sanno Station, so you can get out from the ticket gate and go directly to the hotel from underground. Access is good from Tokyo Station and it only takes 10 minutes by taxi.

Summary
I had a very nice stay at this hotel. It was a calm space with a Japanese atmosphere could be felt everywhere in the hotel. Moreover, the view from the room is worth seeing, and you can enjoy a scenery that you don’t normally get to see. It is a hotel that you get to spend a luxurious time and it is worth staying at.
