"MIMARU TOKYO Shinjuku WEST" is an apartment-type hotel that features spacious rooms with a kitchen. Conveniently located near Shinjuku Station, this large family-friendly room has a bathroom with a bathtub and a dining room/kitchen with a complete set of cooking utensils prepared. It is a new, clean and stylish hotel that just opened in March 2020.

The hotel is built along Koshu-Kaido.
It is a new and beautiful 14 story building.

The front desk had a design of a shoji screen and goldfish drawn on the wall in the back.
The lobby was Japanese style with soft lights. The big windows created an open space.
The hotel name spelled out with Japanese style alphabet objects.

Amenities such as slippers, toothbrush, cotton swabs & cotton, tea, coffee and so on were prepared in the lobby. You can also ask for a hairbrush, shower cap, razor, etc.

What is the Apartment (4 single beds) Room like?
Guest room entrance door
There was a bathroom on the right and a toilet on the left.
The room was over 40 square meters wide with 4 beds, a desk, a kitchen and a dining table.
The room was unified with soft colored wood. It was a stylish and comfortable room with a Japanese design using shojis on the window. There were several outlets here and there which were convenient.
Two single size beds were stuck together. The mattress was hard, so it may be a little uncomfortable for those who prefer soft mattresses. There were also two types of pillows prepared on the bed.
There were 2 beds lined up on the opposite side, and there were a total of 4 beds. This room can accommodate up to 4 adults.

The window could be opened a little. The screen blocked out the sunlight.

Bathroom
The sink, bathtub and sink were separate.
There was plenty of space to put my belongings on the counter next to the sink.
Face mirror, cups, face & hand soap.
Bath towels and face towels under the sink.
Hair dryer
The washing room was spacious.
There was plenty of space in the bathtub.
The shower was a removable hand shower. The water pressure and temperature were just right.
Shampoo, conditioner and body soap were prepared next to the shower.
The toilet was in a separate room.

Closet and safe
The closet was next to the bed.
There was plenty of space to store suitcases inside. There was also a deodorant spray and shoehorn inside.

There was a kitchen in the room.
There was a dining table with four chairs. You can charge your electronic device while sitting at the table.
In addition to the equipments provided in the room, you can also borrow a rice cooker.
Knives, cutting board, frying pan, pots, bowls and other cooking utensils were prepared.

Staff & Guests
Since it is an apartment type hotel, I only communicated with the staff during check-in and check-out. The staff was polite when checking me in. The front desk is available from 7am to 10pm.
I did not see many other guests, but I saw a woman with a small child, and a man on a business trip. Many of the guests seemed to be staying for consecutive nights.

Hotels Surroundings
The hotel is within walking distance to Shinjuku Station, and there are many restaurants and convenience stores in the vicinity, providing a convenient environment. Although it is located along the Koshu Kaido it is a quiet environment.

Access
It is about a 10-minute walk from the south exit of Shinjuku Station, and a 30-minute walk to downtown Kabukicho. It is easily accessible not only to Shinjuku and its surroundings, but to every business district and sightseeing spots.
You can go straight to the hotel from the Shinjuku Bus Terminal.

Summary
I had a nice stay at “MIMARU Tokyo Shinjuku WEST.” As it is an apartment type hotel you can stay as if you are at you are at home. The room was spacious, simple, fashionable and functional. The kitchen was also clean and fully equipped. It was about 10 minutes on foot from Shinjuku Station, which was very convenient. I would love to stay at this hotel again.
