I chose "Kanucha Bay Hotel & Villas" because it was a quiet resort. There was also a private beach right in front of the hotel. The hotel is a little far from main trouts attractions, but the hotel was very nice and worth the travel.

This is the entrance to the building with the reception. There was a large canopy at the entrance.
It was December when I stayed, so the illumination was beautiful.
The entrance was very normal.
Since there is only a reception and a Japanese restaurant here it was not very crowded.
There were sofas in front of the front desk, so I was able to sit and relax.

What is the Orchid Room like?
Guest room entrance door
There was a place to take my shoes off. On the right was a bathroom and on the left was a toilet.
The room had a high ceiling and made the room look even bigger than it is. The color was dark wood and the atmosphere was relaxing. The room was clean and comfortable.
The beds were big and spacious. The height and hardness of the bed were just right and the pillow was comfortable as well, so I was able to sleep very well.
There was a sofa at the foot of the bed. It was like there was a living room.

There was a big window leading to the veranda outside. The window had
lace curtains and blackout curtains.
There is a jacuzzi on the veranda with a beautiful view of the ocean and palm trees.
In the morning you can see the sun rise. At night, you can see the illuminations on the private beach from afar.

There was also a deck chair and a table on the veranda.

Bathroom
The bathroom was very big with a bathtub and a wash area.
The bath is big enough for two people to get in together.
The shower was a height adjustable and removable hand shower, and the water pressure was good. There was a stool and a bucket. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were also prepared next to the shower.
Sink
There were amenities such as toothbrush, razor, comb, skin care mini set (cleansing, lotion, cream), sewing set, hair band, body towel, cotton swab, cotton, hair band and soap.
Hair dryer
Bath towels, face towels and hand towels prepared next to the sink.
The toilet had a washlet function.
There was a sink next to the toilet.

Closet and safe
There was a big closet next to the bed.
There were enough hangers inside. There was also a safe, mosquito repelent and insect repellent spray in the closet. Suitcases and purchased souvenirs could all be stored here, so it was nice that the room could be kept clean.

Mini bar and cafe
There was a cafe corner next to the TV, with a kettle, ice pale, cups, glasses, two free bottles of water and tea bags.
There was a fridge, but nothing was inside.

Restaurants in the hotel
There were six restaurants, bars and beachside terraces in the hotel.
For breakfast I could choose between Japanese or Western food, and if you pick Western you will have breakfast at “Paradi.”
There was a poolside terrace.
Breakfast was buffet style with may dishes and drinks to choose form.

You can make your own sandwich.
There were even dishes for kids.

Breakfast
If you choose to have Japanese food for breakfast you will be escorted to “Kancha.”
You will move from building to building on a cart.
The Japanese food was classy, and the main meal was colorful with grilled fish, shabu-shabu, and dashi rolled egg.

Facilities in the hotel
There were three pools on the premises. The two outdoor pools are only open from April to October, so only the indoor pool was available during my stay.
There was a private beach.

Hotel Surroundings
There is a private beach, three pools, gym, spa, nail salon, tennis court and a golf course, so there was plenty to do in the hotel. Rather than staying at a hotel and going to a sightseeing spot, you can stay on the hotel grounds and enjoy the resort. It is not too far from highway, and it takes 30 to 40 minutes to Nago.

Staff and guests
The staff were courteous and quick, with good consideration and a pleasant response. They were very helpful when I had to change my reservation time for the restaurant.
There were many couples staying at the hotel. Most of them were young and I did not see many elderly people.

Access
The hotel is located in the northern part of Okinawa prefecture. You will probably want to go by car. There are no convenience stores or shops around. It is a quiet place surrounded by nature.

Summary
I had a very nice stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is not very big, but the room was spacious and clean. It was a little troublesome to have to move around in the hotel with a cart, but it was also exciting. This time I stayed during winer, but I would love to stay in the summer time so that I ca go to the private beach and swim in the pool. I would like to stay in a different types of room the next time I stay.
