I decided to stay at the "Jozankei View Hotel," because it is a hotel that is well known in Hokkaido and I can spend a leisurely time in a town with many hot springs. While traveling in Hokkaido, I decided to take a day out of the central city and stay at Jozankei, a tourist attraction. I didn't intend to rent a car, but there was a free shuttle bus that will pick you ups in Sapporo.

Restaurants and shops in the hotel
There was a restaurant called the “ROYAL GRAND CHARIOT” located on the first floor of the annex.
The restaurant was just renovated, so it was new on the inside.
There was a souvenir shop selling many items. I received a gift certificate worth 500 yen that could be used at the souvenir shop.

Facilities in the hotel
On the 1st and 2nd basement floors of the main building was a large public bath called “Tosuikyo.” There were many types of baths, jacuzzi and a sauna.
At the open-air bath in “Yusuikyo,” you can enjoy a nice bath while enjoying nature.
There was an indoor hot water amusement called “Water Kingdom/Lagoon.” There is the splash river, wave pool where waves rush, flowing pool and the children-only pool “Palpal” where moms and babies can play with peace of mind, children and adults can enjoy themselves. It is very popular among families with children.

Hotel Surroundings
There is a bridge near the hotel, so I enjoyed the view from the bridge. If you walk for about 10 minutes, you will find delicious restaurants selling pizza and gelato, and places where you can eat kaiseki cuisine. There are some people in the hot spring town who want to enjoy foot-baths in a place surrounded by nature, and it was also just across the intersection in front of the hotel. When I walked to the opposite side of the hot spring town, there were some convenience stores. If you plan on going sightseeing by car, you can get to Jozankei Dam and the observation deck in about a 20 minute drive.
Nature around the hotel.

Staff and Guests
The staff were polite and explained about the hotel very carefully. They even guided me to the elevator.
Since I stayed on a weekday, there seemed to be many elderly people staying. However, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays I would imagine many families with children staying here.

Access
Since there is a round-trip bus from the hotel to Sapporo, you will have no trouble with transportation. It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Jozankei Onsen town, but you can enjoy the scenery because of the distance from other hotels. There were also many places to eat nearby.

Summary
I was very satisfied with my stay. First of all, the kind and bright staff gave me a very good impression. In particular, the lobby was very big and luxurious, and there were many places to sit and relax. The view from the room was very beautiful and I was able to relive my daily stress. The hotel was located in a convenient area. The round-trip free bus requires a phone reservation, but the staff was polite on the phone as well. It is a perfect hotel to stay with your friends and family. I had a very enjoyable stay.
