"Royton Sapporo" is located in the center of Sapporo, a 3-minute walk from Nishi 11-chome Subway Station, and within walking distance of Sapporo Station and Odori Station. Located near Odori Park and Hokkaido University Botanical Garden, this is a city hotel also surrounded by nature.

What is the Twin Room like?

There was a closet on the right and a bathroom on the left.

There was a big window brightening the room.

The room felt a little old, but it was big and cleaned very well, so I was able to spend a comfortable time.

The bed was comfortable to lay on and the blanket was warm, so I was able to sleep very well.

There were lights on the headboard and a phone, memo set, light switches and outlets on the bedside table.

The view from the window. My room was on the 7th floor, but it was a bit disappointing because the other buildings around the hotel were blocking the view.

Amenities included a toothbrush set, cotton, cotton swab, razor, hairbrush, hair elastic, and a body sponge.

Water pressure was strong enough to use comfortably.

Shampoo, conditioner and body soap were prepared. They smelled very nice and felt good on my hair.

I had breakfast at “Cafe Trianon” which is on the first floor.

There were large windows going up to the ceiling, so it was a very bright and open space.

Breakfast was a buffet style serving Japanese and Western dishes. There were many dishes to pick from and they were all delicious.

There was a shopping plaza on the first floor. In addition to Hokkaido souvenirs they were selling daily necessities, sweets and drinks, but they all close at 18:00.

Hotel Surroundings

The hotel is located in the center of Sapporo, so there were many convenience stores and shops nearby. Although it is a hotel in the city it is not in the busy downtown area, so it was quiet.

Staff and Guests

The staff did not explain about the hotel so much, but they were friendly. I arrived a little earlier than the check-in time, but I was able to check-in sooner because my room was ready.

Access

It is about a 3-minute walk from Nishi 11 Chome Subway Station. It was within walking distance to both Sapporo Station and Odori Station which is convenient for getting around places. There was also an airport shuttle bus running between the hotel and New Chitose Airport.

Summary

I cannot deny that the hotel was old, but the atmosphere was nice, the staff were kind and the location was convenient for getting around Sapporo. Above all, the breakfast was delicious. The room was also spacious, so it is a comfortable hotel to stay at for those who do not mind the oldness of the hotel. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.
