“The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club” was chosen because it was recently renewed and its interior has become popular on social media. I wanted to take pictures of the photogenic interior. I always stay at well known hotels, so I wanted to try to stay at a different hotel just for the experience. I also thought that the location is convenient for shopping and riding the trolley for sightseeing in the center of Waikiki.

My first impression of the hotel was that it was a little dark. There was no entrance door, and the wooden entrance was casual like a beach house.
There was always a bell staff standing a the entrance.
The entrance seen from inside the hotel.
There was a front desk on the right side immediately after going through the entrance. At that back was the lobby. As there is only one front desk and not many staffs, it may get crowded when checking in.
The entrance seen from behind the front desk. At the back is the attached coffee shop, which also has an apparel shop.
The pool was near the entrance.
The lobby. You sit here and do the check-in procedures and accommodation instructions. It felt very casual. I was excited to see surfboards on the ceiling and contemporary art.
Contemporary Art in the Lobby.
There was also water on the front floor. It had a different fruit inside every day and it was delicious.
Stylish cabana space on the front floor. Anyone can sit there freely.
The toilet on the first floor. Although both men and women are together, there are four private rooms and they were beautiful.
Front floor elevator hall.

Guest room entrance door.
When entering the room, there was a bathroom on the right and a closet on the left.
Temperature control button and etc.
The room was small and there is not much space. I had trouble finding a place to put the stroller. There was no desk, so it was a little inconvenient to put things. In addition, it was inconvenient that there was no mirror, and I wanted to see my whole body before going out, but I could see only my upper body in the mirror of the bathroom. The room was also decorated with art, and the TV stand, walls and furniture were unified with wood, and it was a stylish atmosphere.
The beds were clean and easy to fall asleep. However, the building itself was old even though it was renewed, and the walls and doors were thin, and the footsteps and the voices of people talking could often be heard which bothered me.
There was a bedside table between the beds. There was no desk in the room and it was a little inconvenient as this was the only table in the room.
On the bedside table was a telephone, a clock with a Bluetooth speaker, a TV remote control, and so on. Every day the housekeepers left a message after cleaning.
There was a TV and a chair opposite the bed.
Under the TV was a storage shelf.
The room seen from the veranda.
The veranda was narrow but there were two small chairs and a table. There was a wall between the next door veranda, but I could see through the gaps which made it feel less private.
The view from the room I stayed in was a city view or it was just a building under construction. This was a little disappointing. The hotel is built in an L-shape and surrounds the pool, so some rooms have a pool view.

There was no bathtub in the bathroom and only a toilet, a wash basin and a shower room.
There was no problem with the water pressure of the shower. As it was just fixed type without a shower hose, it was a little hard washing my two year old child.
The wash basin was made of wood, and the lower part of the sink is a unique design with a full view of the piping.
There was a mirror above the wash basin and a painting next to it.
Under the wash basin, there were towels and a hair dryer.
There was also a towel hanger on the wall.
Amenities included shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hand wash. The shampoo and conditioner did not suit my hair, so I had to by my own at the store. There was no toothbrush. You may not want to expect too much from the amenities

There was a closet on the left side of the room. The closet is a three-sided door, and the right-most door has a cafe corner, a safe and a refrigerator.
The closet was rather narrow, with hangers, a steam iron, a luggage stand and extra comforters in the two doors on the left side.
The safe was a common type of setting a PIN.

The cafe corner and the fridge were in the right side of the closet.
There were 4 glasses, an ice bucket, snacks, dried fruits and 3 cookies in the cafe corner. I was glad that there were snacks. There was no coffee maker or a pot.
There was a refrigerator in the closet under the cafe corner. There was nothing in the refrigerator and there was no mini bar.

The hotel had a restaurant called “Mahina & Suns.” We did not eat here this time, but there was a bar counter, and the interior was an artistic design and had a stylish atmosphere.
At the counter in the restaurant, coffee was prepared every morning and you can drink it for free.
A shop called “Olive & Oliver” was attached to the hotel.

Apparel was also placed behind the coffee counter.
There was a hotel original T-shirt, and it was lovely.
There were also cosmetics.

The pool was in the middle of the hotel. It was small, but everyone was lying and relaxing on the beach bed by the pool.
The water temperature was not too cold and it was just right, but it felt like everyone was watching, so I could only put my foot in the water.
The view of the pool from the room’s veranda.
The pool at night was lit up and was very nice. Children are not allowed to swim in the pool after 18:00 due to the hotel rules, and the atmosphere is very calm.
There are days when there is live music at the restaurant. The pool is on the ground floor so you can not see the sunset. The location of the hotel itself is not on the beach side, it is closer to the Ala Wai Canal, so it is surrounded by tall buildings.
There were rental cycles. It is free, but be careful because they have no brakes.

The hotel is close to Kuhio Avenue in the center of Waikiki, so it has a lot of restaurants and shops and it is lively. I think that it is good for shopping because DFS and the Royal Hawaiian Center is nearby. I think it is safe, but it might be best not to go out alone at night.
There was an ABC store right next to the hotel.

The housekeepers always left a message on the note pad. It’s a small thing but it made me happy. The front desk and the staff at the entrance were always smiling, and when I tried to take a picture, they posed for me.
There were many people staying as a group of friends, or some alone. There were a lot of younger guests. On the contrary, there were few families and elderly people.

Access from the airport was about 25 minutes. There are a lot of buses and trolleys running on Kuhio Street, so I think it is convenient to go anywhere.
Exit the entrance and turn right to Kuhio Street, which is convenient with many shops and restaurants. The duty free shop DFS is also nearby.

The hotel has been renewed, and the pool and the interior are photogenic and I was very excited. It is different from other hotels which was interesting. However, I stayed here with my 2-year-old daughter and it was often inconvenient. Mainly due to the narrowness of the room and the shower that was fixed to the wall. My daughter does not cry so much anymore, but I was worried that the neighbors could here her crying due to the thin walls. The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice, so I would like to stay here again, but I think it would be after my child is grown up.
