Detailed review & photos “Ala Moana Hotel”

Hotel appearance.

The hotel is a large building with many windows.

The entrance was an automatic door.

The lobby felt a little narrow.

There is a Starbucks and shops in the lobby, so it was lively.

As check-in time approaches, there are more people in the lobby, and the front desk is crowded.

Check-in took some time, because there were not enough staffs.

There was also a reception desk for activities and tours.

There was a bathroom on the right side and a closet on the left side.

The room is large enough for two people, but it may be small for people who are planning to spend a long time at the hotel. It was chilly for me because the outside is warm all year round and there was no heating function and I had to turn the cooler off.

The blanket was very warm because it stuck to my body and did not let any cold air get through. Because the pillows were just the right hardness, it did not hurt my neck.

There was a desk opposite the bed, and a TV was on top of it.

There was a table and 2 chairs next to the desk.

There was a veranda in the room.

The veranda has a round table and 2 chairs, so you can relax and enjoy the Hawaiian breeze.Tables and chairs are so light that they can easily be moved.

Depending on the location of the room, I could see the sea from my room and the pool of the hotel from beneath us, and I was able to spend a very elegant time.

Being able to see the sea made it feel even more like I came to Hawaii.

There was a bathtub in the bathroom. There was a bathtub on the right side of the bathroom, a toilet at the front, and a washbasin on the left.

The shower was stuck to the wall. Water pressure was not strong, but it was enough for me. However, the temperature was lukewarm. Also, when you try to reduce the water pressure, the water temperature will also decrease.

The shower was in the bathtub.

The amenities included shampoo, sarcophagus, body milk, shower cap and shoe polish. Toothbrushes, cotton swabs, cotton slippers, etc. were not placed. Toothbrushes and toothpaste can be brought to you by calling the front desk.  Because there is no conditioner, I think it is better for women to bring their own bath goods. You also need to bring pajamas to the hotel because there is no bathrobe.

There was also a hair dryer.

There was a closet on the left side of the room. There were six hangers, an iron, an boar, and a luggage rack in the closet, which was a large space.

The safe was also in the closet.

There was a cafe corner next to the closet. Here you will find a drip-style coffee maker (which also boils hot water), an ice bucket, coffee cups, paper drip coffees and tea bags. Ice buckets are large and can fit a lot of ice at one time. In addition, there was a microwave oven which was very convenient to have.

There was a storage shelf above the cafe corner.

vA refrigerator was also installed under the cafe corner. There was nothing in the fridge.

There is a “Plantation Cafe” on the lobby level, which serves breakfast. A buffet breakfast is available every morning from 6.30 am to 10 am.

On the 36th floor is “Signature Prime Steak & Seafood,” open from 4.30 pm to 10 pm. The elevator’s button can not be pressed until the restaurant is open.

The restaurant has large windows and is located in a upper floor so you can see Diamond Head.

The night view is also very beautiful.

There is a Starbucks Coffee on the lobby floor. WiFi is available for free, and it seems like alcohol is provided from 9 am (open from 5:30 am).

There was a shop on the lobby floor where you can buy food and souvenirs.

There were various things being sold such as food, daily necessities and clothes.

There was also a shop on the lobby floor where you can buy Hawaiian goods and clothes.

There was an outdoor pool on the third floor of the hotel. The poolside deck is very large and there are many chairs so you can relax on. There were many people swimming in the pool, including local people.

The pool is available from 8 am to sunset. After sunset, the pool glows blue and is fantastic and beautiful, but a rope prevents you from going in.

There was also a fitness center on the third floor of the hotel. It is open from 5 am to 12 am.

The fitness center also had a sauna.

There was also a steam room.

There was also a coin laundry facility on the 13th floor. Because there are many, I was able to wash my clothes without having to wait. You can pay with credit card or with coins.

There was also a business center available 24 hours a day.

There was also an ATM in the hotel.

There was also a facility for events and meetings.

There were more locals staying at this hotel than at the hotels in Waikiki. Other than the locals, there were pilots and flight attendants staying as well.
