I decided to stay at the "Fairmont Orchid," because I wanted to stay at a luxury resort hotel along the Pauoa Bay for a long period of time. Also, the world's three largest power spots are near this hotel. There are pools and restaurants in the hotel, and there is a shopping mall nearby, so it is in a very convenient location.

The hotel is a beautiful hotel surrounded by nature.
The guest rooms surrounded the courtyard.
There was a canopy at the entrance.
There was also a parking space by the entrance.

There were sofas prepared in the lobby.
There was also an outdoor terrace next to the lobby with a view of the whole hotel and the beach.

What is the Fairmont Garden View Room like?
Guest room entrance door
There was a closet on the right and a bathroom on the left.
The room was clean and spacious with a king size bed. The furnitures were unified with dark brown. The room was bright when the curtains were opened.
The king size bed was very big. There was an ottoman at the foot of the bed.
There were four fluffy pillows that were very comfortable to sleep on.
There was a TV and a desk across the bed.

The desk was big with plenty of space to put my belongings on top.

There was a veranda.
There was a table with two chairs. I enjoyed a relaxing time bathing in sunlight. There were not many people walking in the garden, so it was very private.
My room was on the first floor so I could not see the ocean, but the “Spa Without Walls” right by the veranda created a nice and calm atmosphere. If you stay in one of the rooms on the upper floor, you will be able to see the ocean, garden and the pool.

Bathroom
There was a bathtub and a shower room.
The bathtub was spacious. The shower curtain was doubled, so I did not have to worry about water splashing on the floor.
The shower was fixed on the wall and the water pressure was just right.
Shower room and toilet
It was nice to have a shower room to wash my body after swimming in the pool or the ocean.
There was body soap prepared in the shower room.
Toilet
There were two sinks.
There was a bottled shampoo, conditioner, body cream, soap, shower cap, cotton swab, and cotton prepared on the sink. Unfortunately, there was no toothbrush, toothpaste or a body towel to wash my body.

Closet and safe
There was closet by the entrance.
The inside of the closet door was a full-length mirror. There were enough hangers prepared and also an iron, ironing board and a baggage rack.

The cafe corner was under the TV.
There was a drip type coffee machine, cups, coffee and tea bags.

There was a fridge, and two bottles of water were added everyday.

Restaurants and shops in the hotel
I had breakfast at the “Orchid Court.”
Inside of the restaurant.
There was a terrace with a nice view of the garden and ocean.
Breakfast was from 6am to 10:30am.
Food was served buffet style.

There were plenty of dishes to pick from and I had a very nice breakfast.
I had dinner at the “Brown’s Beach House.” It is a very popular restaurant, so you will need to make a reservation in order to get in.
You can enjoy a relaxing time with Hawaiian songs and guitar playing in the back ground.
The shrimp was amazing!

Facilities in the hotel
There was a large outdoor pool with many people swimming in it.
The pool had depth.
There were not many people swimming in the pool at night, but it the light up was beautiful.
There were beach chairs, sofas with a roof and hammocks by the pool. There were shops selling beach goods and staff renting out chairs and towels.
You can spend a relaxing time at the beach bar with a nice drink in your hand.
The gym was open 24 hours.
There was even a tennis court.
There was a spa with a water-fall next to it.

Hotel Surroundings
There are no shops or buildings around the hotel other than the shopping mall. It is a quiet area surrounded by nature, so you can spend a relaxing time. There are no transportations other than the shuttle bus, so you need to rent a car or take a taxi to get to the city of Kailua-Kona or the airport. Five minutes by car from the hotel is the “Fishpond,” one of the world’s three biggest power spots, where you can enjoy the power of nature.

Staff and Guests
All staff were kind and courteous. The staff at the breakfast venue were a bit unorganized and some of the tables were dirty.
There were mostly couples in their 40s and 60s staying. The guests were all quiet and relaxed, so it was never loud in the hotel.

Access
It is approximately 30 minutes by car from the airport. There are no buses or public transport, so you have to book a shuttle bus or travel by taxi. There is a shopping mall, restaurants and shops about 3 minutes away from the hotel. A shuttle bus will take you there. After eating and shopping at the shopping mall, you can call the shuttle bus at the cash register or reception of the store. There is also a supermarket in the mall where you can buy food to take to your room.
You can enjoy some seafood at “Tommy Bahama” which is in the resort.

Summary
I had a very nice stay at this hotel. I was able to relax in a resort hotel. The area around the hotel was quiet with a nice view of the ocean. You can enjoy yourself without having to leave the hotel. The dinner with a great view of the sunset was exceptional, and the fresh seafood was delicious and satisfying. In addition, breakfast had a variety of Hawaiian dishes and fruits to pick from and I was very content. I was also able to spend a relaxing time at the spa and pool. Overall, I had an amazing stay and I would love to stay here again.
