Hotel Surroundings

The area around the hotel is quiet and relaxing. The Holualoa Bay right in front of the hotel. The sunset was beautiful. It is a perfect hotel to stay at for those who want to enjoy a leisurely time. However, since there are no shops nearby it may be a little inconvenient at times. There was a poki shop called Da Polk Shack on the hotel premises, but the business hours were short.

Staff and Guests

There was only an elderly woman working alone. She was very nice and responded casually. There were many families and groups of people staying. Because the room was a condominium type it was suitable for those staying as a large group or for a long period of time.

Access

The airport is about a 30-minute drive away from the hotel. There are no public transports, so you need to take a shuttle bus or a taxi. There are no shops around the hotel. The city of Kailua-Kona is about 15 minutes away, with restaurants and supermarkets. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, where you can take a trolley bus to the city of Kailua-Kona. Only one bus leaves every two hours. You can get the bus schedule and a map at the hotel reception.

Summary

This hotel is not suitable for staying alone. I chose this hotel because of its cheap price and location, but at the time of check-in an extra charge was required for room cleaning. Overall, the price was not very cheap and it made me think that it would have been more convenient to stay at a hotel closer to the city of Kailua-Kona. It was a little inconvenient to have to ride the bus to get to a restaurant or to a shop. It is convent if you have a car, because you can go buy ingredients for food and cook in the kitchen. The view of the beach was very nice and I was able to spend a relaxing and quiet time.
