This is a historic hotel with an elegant design.

There is a taxi stand, and you can get on and off the car called by grab here. There is also a roof between the adjacent KLCC malls, so you can go shopping without worrying about rain.

The room was old, but the furnitures were well maintained. The lights could be controlled on a panel next to the bed. The big window at the back of the room made the room feel spacious.

IMG_1006(2) copy

The bed was king size and the mattress was just the right hardness. There were two types of pillows, each with different hardness.

IMG_1006(24) copy

There were tables on both sides of the bed. There was a phones and alarm on the table. In addition to the lighting panel there were outlets and USB ports on both sides, so it was convenient for charging electronic devices.

IMG_1006(5) copy

There was a TV and a luggage stand across the bed.

IMG_1006(9) copy

There was a desk with two chairs.

I was staying on the 30th floor, which is the top floor of the hotel. The view of the Twin Tower was outstanding.

IMG_1006(29) copy

Looking down, you can see the fountain in KLCC Park and the fountain show from directly above. Also, if you look at it widely, you can see that there are still many places under construction in the center of Kuala Lumpur.

The bathtub was big and deep. Some hotels in Kuala Lumpur have brown water, but the water was clear at this hotel.

Body soap and body towels were provided next to the bathtub. The amenities were original to Mandarin Oriental KL.

IMG_1006(28) copy

There was a shower booth next to the bathtub.

IMG_1006(23) copy

The water pressure was strong and I was able to take a shower comfortably.

IMG_1006(18) copy

Shampoo, conditioner and body soap were provided next to the shower. The body soap was Basil Relax, which is a mixture of basil and lime, and has a unique herbal scent.

Restaurants and shops in the hotel

IMG_1006 (13) copy

There is a restaurant called “MOSAIC” on the G floor where I had breakfast.

IMG_1006 (17) copy

Among the many hotels in Kuala Lumpur, the breakfast buffet is the most popular here. Even those who did not stay at the hotel can have breakfast here, so people were waiting in line from 9am.

IMG_1006 (11) copy

Many kinds of bread.

IMG_1006 (14) copy

This is the Malaysian food corner with beef rendan and so on.

IMG_1006 (15) copy

Malaysian people are composed of Chinese, Malay and Indian descent. This is the Indian corner with curry and biryani.

IMG_1006 (18) copy

This is the Chinese corner with dim sum and porridge.

IMG_1006 (12) copy

Eggs cooked on the spot.

IMG_1006 (19) copy

There were many kinds of juices such as mango juice, grapefruit juice and orange juice.

IMG_1006 (21) copy

This is the “Lounge on The Park” on the G floor. You can have some afternoon tea here.

IMG_1006 (20) copy

As the name implies, facing KLCC Park, this lounge has a beautiful contrast between the brightness of the green trees outside and the solid interior of the hotel. After the evening, the number of Western customers increased, and there were many groups who enjoyed drinking and talking with friends.

IMG_1006 (23) copy

I was able to have as many drinks as I like, including wine, beer and soft drinks.

Facilities in the hotel

IMG_1006 (27) copy

There was an indoor pool, but it was not very big. There was a locker room on the same floor, and beach beds, umbrellas and towels can be borrowed. You can see the twin towers from the poolside. However, there is an “Aqua Restaurant & Bar” next to the pool, which is famous for its delicious pizza, and customers come from outside. Therefore, the pool is visible from the restaurant.

IMG_1006 (26) copy

The pool is open from 7am to 10pm. At night, the Twin Towers are lit up, so the poolside has a fantastic atmosphere with water reflections. There were guards by the pool ready to help.

IMG_1006 (28) copy

There was also a gym adjacent to the pool. There were exercise bikes, treadmills and so on. You can enjoy a nice view of the city while exercising.

Hotel Surroundings

The hotel is located in the middle of Kuala Lumpur and is a perfect location for shopping and dining. It is within a 15-minute drive (taxi, grab, etc.) to major attractions such as museums and Central Market. Although it is not a place where the number of people decreases even at night, it is a country with many snatches and deductions, so I think you should always be careful even in malls. Alongside the pavilion, the popular giant shopping Morse code KLCC is next door. Suria KLCC has high brands such as Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton, as well as affordable items such as UNIQLO and ZARA and supermarkets, so I think it is a fun mall for men and women and people of all ages. There are also many affordable restaurants.

Access

It is about an hour drive from KLIA Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, it is adjacent to the popular Suria KLCC Mall, close to the KLCC Aquarium and many restaurants. It is usually safe, but it is best to watch out for snatchers.

IMG_1006 (32) copy

The hotel is adjacent to Suria KLCC, a popular mall alongside the pavilion. There is a roof between the hotel and the mall so you won’t get wet in the rain.

IMG_1006 (31) copy

Next to the hotel is KLCC Park, which is famous for its fountain shows. It is nice to take a walk in the morning when it’s still cool.

Summary

I had a very nice stay at this hotel. First of all, the service was stable and safe, and the calm atmosphere unique to a long-established hotel made me feel relaxed. Both the restaurant and room service were delicious, the room was clean and I had no problems with the wifi. I would love to stay at this hotel again.
