I chose “Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LA Live,” because my friend had to stay in the downtown area for one night, and I had stayed here before. It is safe and you can walk to sightseeing spots and shop at the Staple Center.

It is a very tall building that is tall and stylish. It stood out very much.

The entrance was crowded with cars even it is a small downtown city, and the staff looked very busy.

The lobby ceiling was high with large windows on one side. It was a luxurious space.

This is a Marriott hotel where the Residence Inn and Courtyard are united, so both hotels had the same check-in counter.

What is the One King Bed Room City view like?
Guest room door.
Key cards. My room was on the 21st floor.
I checked in in the after noon, but my room was not ready yet (I had requested an upgrade, so I needed to wait). It was a spacious room, but it was very ordinary with a bed, sofa and a desk.
I could hear police cards with scared me a little, but other than that I was able to sleep very well.
There was a desk, TV and a closet next to the bed.
There was a drawer under the TV, so there was enough storage space.
A guide book on the desk.

A lamp next to the closet.
A table and a sofa at the foot of the bed.
This sofa can be turned into a bed. There was a mirror hung above the bed.
I could see the downtown from the room.
I was excited to see the famous staple center on the right.
I was amazed with the view.

Bathroom
There was a shower room on the right, a sink on the left, and a toilet at the back. The shower door was a glass sliding door and the bathroom door was a sliding door as well. It may be because it was a handicap room, but it looked functional and stylish to me. Water drainage and water pressure was sufficient.
Sink.
Soap, shampoo, conditioner and body soap were prepared on the sink. Toothbrushes and combs were sold on the 1st floor.

Closet and safe
The closet was next to the TV.
The safe was under the TV. It is a common type that sets a personal identification number, and it was large enough to fit a computer.

Mini bar and cafe
A cafe corner behind the head board.
A drip style coffee machine, ice bucket, glasses and coffee were prepared.
There was a fridge, but nothing was prepared inside.

Restaurants and shops in the hotel
There was a bistro called “Table 901” on the first floor, but it was already closed when I returned to the hotel around 11pm.
I saw someone drinking wine during the day. Also, you can buy Starbucks coffee here.
The showcase was lined up with oatmeal, sandwiches, fruits and various drinks.
They have happy hour at the bistro.

They sell snacks and drinks, including alcohol.

There was an outdoor pool on the 3rd floor and you can get there with your room key. California is definitely the place to go swimming in a pool. It was crowded with adults.
There were people drinking beer by the pool, because there were tables and chairs prepared.

The gym is open 24 hours a day.
There were computers and a printer in front of the front desk.
There was also a computer room on the 2nd floor which you can only access with your room key.

A convention hall on the 2nd floor where you can hold events and meetings.

Hotel surroundings
There were people of various races on the street, and it reminded me that I was in Los Angeles. The price of the parking lots around the hotel is 40-50 dollars.
Art in the downtown.
There were scooters here and there.
I had lunch at a restaurant neat the hotel.

Staff and guests
The staff were helpful. When one of my friends came back late at night to retrieve his suitcase which went very smoothly.
There were about the same number of tourists and businessmen staying at the hotel. Many of the guests seemed high class.

Access
It is about 40-60 minutes from the airport. When I came back around the hotel at night, it was a little scary with the sound of sirens. The next morning I took a stroll around the hotel, but it was safe and I could enjoy sightseeing while taking a short walk to the Staple Center. The area around the hotel was in the form of a grid, and it was easy to access without looking at the map. There was a shopping center nearby and I was able to buy orange juice and bananas at the target and replenish energy.

As soon as I crossed the road from the hotel, there was the staple center.
There was a yard house across the hotel and it seemed like a place where you can enjoy a beer.

Summary
Downtown LA is not very safe, but Marriott is a nice hotel with helpful staff. The hotel is close to the staple center, so you can enjoy the atmosphere across the road in the morning. Also, I was pleased that I could go to a shopping mall within a few minutes on foot and buy souvenirs. The pool and gym were wonderful, the atmosphere of the lobby was very nice, and the view of downtown LA that can be seen from the room was the best. I always stay at this hotel with my husband, so I knew that is would be a perfect room for one to two people to stay. I was lucky to be able to stay at this hotel with a cheeper price due to a discount.
