Located in the center part of Ishikawa Prefecture, Kanazawa has many tourist atractions, such as "Kenrokuen Garden," "Higashi Chaya district," and "Omicho Market." Kanazawa is also famous for its delicious sea food. It is about two and a half hours from Tokyo if you ride the Hokuriku Shinkansen. Here are some hotels that are recommended to stay at during your visit to this ancient city, "Kanazawa."
UAN Kanazawa
“UAN Kanazawa” is a modern Japanese style hotel. The lobby lounge “Haremama” is a space where you can enjoy a traditional craft experience and buy art work. Since it is a new hotel, the exterior and interior are new and very cozy. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Musashiga Tsuji/Omicho Market by bus from Kanazawa Station.
The hotel did not stand out from the outside, but it was modern and beautiful.
There was a small tatami mat on the left side of the front desk. This is a space designed in a way that guests will have a nice memory of making traditional crafts.
The room is about 30 square meters and is spacious enough for two people. The interior was a Japanese modern Kanazawa-like design. The room was mostly made of wood and was very clean and comfortable.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa
“Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa” is a hotel that opened in January, 2019. The large public bath with a view of Kanazawa Castle Park and the rooms designed with Kaga Yuzen are very attractive. You can also enjoy a meal that uses plenty of Kaga vegetables as ingredients. Popular sightseeing spots such as “Oyama Shrine,” “Omicho Market,” “Kenrokuen” and “Kanazawa Castle” are within walking distance from the hotel, making it an ideal location to enjoy sightseeing in Kanazawa.
The hotel was modern Japanese which was very stylish.
The superior twin room is 23.5m² and was very spacious. There was plenty of space to open up my luggage on the floor even with two people. It was very clean and comfortable.
There is a restaurant on the 1st floor called “Noka Manna Maniwa.” Breakfast was a Japanese/Western buffet, with lots of dishes using Kaga vegetables and ingredients from Hokuriku.

Hotel Nikko Kanazawa
“Hotel Nikko Kanazawa” is located in front of Kanazawa Station and is connected with the station by an underpass. The 30-storey high-rise hotel is the highest hotel in the Hokuriku area. Guest rooms overlook the beautiful cityscape of Kanazawa and the Sea of Japan in the distance. This is a luxury hotel with a calm atmosphere with many restaurants to pick from.
There is a gorgeous fountain in front of the front desk with beautiful flowers in the middle. The stairs leading up to the second floor created a luxurious feel to the lobby.
The room is 22 square meters which is not very big, but the window was large so it was bright and clean.
My room was on the Japan Sea side, so I was able to see the sea in the distance. At night, I was able to see the city and Kanazawa Station billow light up.

The Square Hotel KANAZAWA
“The Square Hotel Kanazawa” is a slightly new hotel that opened in 2018. The rooms are decorated with Kaga Gosai, so they are very colorful and stylish. Popular sightseeing spots such as “Oyama Shrine,” “Omicho Market,” “Kenrokuen” and “Kanazawa Castle” are within walking distance from the hotel, making it an ideal location for tourists.
The hotel faces the main road and the exterior was modern and stylish.
“The Superior Double Bed Room” was spacious with 20m². There was enough space to walk around even with my luggage opened up on the floor. The red color made the room feel warm. It was a very clean and relaxing space.
I had breakfast at “Bankers Street Care” next to the lobby. Breakfast time was from 7: 00 to 9: 30 and it was buffet style.

Hotel Intergate Kanazawa
“Hotel Intergate Kanazawa” is a hotel that opened in March 2019. It is located right near Minami-cho Oyama Shrine bus stop, so it is convenient for both sightseeing and for business. In the lounge, you can relax while sipping coffee that is locally popular. The hotel is a cozy and stylish space with contemporary art and designs based on the traditions and culture of Kanazawa decorated here and there.
The hotel was a bit off the main street. The exterior was modern and stylish.
The room had a warm feeling to it and was very relaxing. It was cleaned very well and was comfortable to spend time in.
There were no restaurants in the hotel, but there was breakfast, coffee time, tea time, happy hour and night time service at the lounge next to the lobby.

Hotel Forza Kanazawa
“Hotel Forza Kanazawa” just opened in October, 2019. It is built in a very convenient location which is about a 10-minute walk from JR Kanazawa Station, and within walking distance to sightseeing spots such as “Omicho Market,” “Kenroku Garden,” “Kanazawa Castle” and the “21st Century Museum.” This hotel offers a relaxing space for those visiting Kanazawa.
The exterior was a simple design, but it stood out because it was facing the main street.
The “Deluxe Double Bed Room” is 21m² in size, and had plenty of space for one person to stay. There would be plenty of space for two people to stay as well.
This is the breakfast venue at the lobby. After 10:30 it becomes a lounge. Between 16:00 and 22:00, you can have wine and Japanese sake.

Hotel Trusty Kanazawa Korinbo
“Hotel Trusty Kanazawa Korinbo” is a stylish modern Japanese style hotel located in Korinbo, which is in the center of Kanazawa city. It is a hotel convenient for both sightseeing and for business use. It is also only a minute walk away from “Korinbo” bus stop which is very convenient for traveling around.
The hotel was facing the main street and the exterior was modern and simple.
The room was a little small which was only 16.8m², but it was modern and clean, so the size did not matter to me. Lights here and there in the room created a stylish atmosphere.
There is a lobby cafe called “Fashino” where they serve breakfast. The windows were big, making the restaurant feel open and bright.

HOTEL MYSTAYS PREMIER Kanazawa
“Hotel MyStays Premier” is a hotel near Kanazawa Station with rooms over 30 square meters big. It has been awarded the “2016 Certificate of Excellence” by TripAdvisor for hotel around Kanazawa Station. It is a hotel that is suitable for both sightseeing and business as is located in a convenient location.
The outside was simple but clean.
The size of the room was 32m², which was very big and even too much space for one person. The room was modern with dimmed lights that had a warm color. There was enough space to walk around even if I opened up my luggage on the floor.
There was a library in the hotel. There were lots of sofas to sit on and was a very relaxing space. There was a chess board in the middle and you can play while lying down.
