“W Taipei” is a luxury designer hotel located in the Xinyi area of Taipei. In the vicinity of the hotel is a large shopping mall with Taiwan's leading skyscraper Taipei 101 and luxury brand stores. It takes about 20 minutes by taxi from Taipei Songshan Airport, and the MRT “City Government Station” is the nearest station which is easily accessible. It is a luxury hotel conveniently located for gourmet shopping.
The hotel is a 31-story building located just a 1-minute walk from the city government station, which is the sixth on the MRT Bannan Line (BL line) from Taipei Main Station. There was also a big W red sign at the top of the hotel.
At night, the hotel stands out from being lit up with red lights.
The lower floor of the hotel is a department store and the hotel is above the 8th floor.
There was a drive-through at the entrance.

The first floor lobby was very spacious. The ceiling was high and the entrance side had a glass door, so it was bright and open during the day.
The design was very interesting.
There is only a concierge desk at the 1st floor lobby, and the front desk is on the 10th floor. You can take this elevator to the 10th floor.

There were two check-in counters.
There was a large window next to the front desk going up from the floor to the ceiling.
You can go up to your room using this elevator. The elevator will only stop on your floor.

The room was 43 square meters wide, including the bathroom. It was very stylish with red and orange accent colors in some places, and the walls were decorated with steel art.
The bed was big enough for two people to sleep on.
There were four pillows prepared on the bed.
The bedside lamps turned on.
There was a bedside table.
There was a telephone, memo set, and a iPod docking station. In addition, there was a light and curtain switch, universal type outlets and USB ports, which was convenient.
A BOSE speaker was also installed in the room, so I was able to enjoy my favorite music while relaxing on the bed.
On the other side, there was an ice bucket, glasses, 4 free bottles of water and a TV remote control. There was also an outlet and a USB port here, so two people can charge their phones at once.

Inside the drawer, there were LAN cables and outlets for DVD players (the DVD player was in the closet).

There was a big window going up from the floor to the ceiling. Sunlight shown through, making the room bright.
From the room, I could see Taipei 101 from my room.
I could also enjoy Taipei 101 at night.
The bathroom was on the right, and the toilet behind this door.
It was nice that the toilet and bathroom was separate.
The toilet had a Washlet function with an automatic lid.
Next to the toilet was the bathroom.
There was a door leading to the bathroom in the bedroom as well, so there were two entrances.
The shower was behind the bathtub.
There was a rain shower coming from above and a hand shower that can be adjusted and removed.
Next to the shower, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap of the first spa brand “bliss” in America was prepared.
There was a sink next to the shower. It was a very interesting design.

Towels, mineral water (two free items and one Evian for a fee), glasses, tissue, accessory stand, and amenities were prepared on the sink.
Amenities such as toothbrush and razor were in the original package of the hotel.
There was a large closet in the room with plenty of hangers prepared.

There was a flashlight, a roller cleaner, and shoe polish in the drawer.
There was a cafe corner next to the desk. An electric kettle, coffee, tea, etc. were prepared.
Next to the cafe corner were glasses, alcohol such as wine and gin were and and sweets prepared as a minibar (charged).

There were drinks inside the fridge.
A restaurant called “The Kitchen Table” on the 10th floor where the reception is located.
There is also a large window, and you can see Taipei 101 from the window. There were stylish tables and chairs, and it was a modern and casual atmosphere.
Breakfast was buffet style and there were many kinds of dishes prepared.
You can make your own porridge.
There was a live kitchen where the chef will cook you an omelet in front of you.
You can also make your own noodle.
“YEN Bar” is on the top floor 31 floor. It was purple and a stylish space.
There were windows everywhere, and you can see Taipei 101.
“WOO Bar” at the back of the 10th floor. It is a cafe where you can enjoy afternoon tea during the day and a bar at night.
There was a heated outdoor pool on the 10th floor (there is a reception/ changing room on the 12th floor, from which there is a dedicated elevator to the pool).
This pool was available from 6am to 10pm and towels were prepared.
There was a beach bed and umbrella on the poolside which is a relaxing space.
There was also a bar called the “WET Bar” by the pool.
It is open 24 hours a day.
The gym has windows covering one whole side, so you can work out with a nice view. Depending on the day of the week and the time of day, classes like yoga are being held, so it may be fun to participate.
The area around the hotel is a safe area with offices, convenience stores and shopping malls, so you can go out with problems even at night. The building where the hotel is located is connected to the “Municipal Station” on the MRT Bannan Line. It is within walking distance to the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, 101 Taipei and Linjiang Street Night Market.
The hotel’s lower floors (from the 2nd to the 7th basement floors) are convenient for shopping as they are united-age departments.
It is also within walking distance to the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store.
The staff were young and friendly. At the time of check-in, explanation about the hotel was polite and response was good. In addition, there were always several staff members at the entrance on the 1st floor, and always greeting the guests.
There were guests staying from all over the world. Many of them seemed young.
It is about 20 minutes by taxi from Taipei Songshan Airport. MRT “City Government Station” is the nearest station.
It is about a 10-minute walk to the tourist spot “Kokusho Kinenkan.”
I had a very nice stay at this hotel. It was a luxurious and stylish hotel with a nice atmosphere. The room was large and the facilities and amenities were substantial, so I could spend a comfortable time with no inconveniences. There are a lot of restaurants and shops around the hotel, so you can enjoy gourmet shopping. This hotel is connected to MRT station, so it is convenient and easily accessible to Taipei city. It is one of the hotels that can be recommended in the Xinyi area.
