“THE SHERWOOD TAIPEI” is one of the five-star hotels in Taipei. The West China Taichung Chinese restaurant symbolizes the fusion of Chinese and Western culture, and represents the commitment of Chinese cuisine, from hotel services to the design of the building, to decorations and furniture.
The hotel opened in 1990, and the building has a warm wooden design. The building conveys the concept of “warm and cordial service.” It is a good hotel to stay at for business and leisurely reasons, and is also a very welcoming hotel.
The hotel is surrounded by banks.
Sherwood Taipei’s 20-story hotel is located in the heart of the city’s business area. The appearance is neat and clean.
The entrance is covered with glass and you can see chandeliers and stylishly decorated trees and paintings.
The doorman greeted me and let me in.
Once inside, the chandelier with a height of Asian taste from the top welcomes you gorgeously, and the wooden building is warm and calm.
The front desk is big and simple. Check-in went smoothly and the staff were friendly.
The elevator hall was designed with wood and felt very warm.
When you get off the elevator on the guest room floor, the atmosphere changes and it became a Western style with carpets. It is clean and based on white.
The floor was covered with a simple carpet, and I could see bright light coming in from the window at the back.
The bedroom was a small room with a twin bed, TV, desk and a sofa.
There is a lamp above the bed shining it directly.
An alarm, phone and two bottles of water.
There is a sofa for one person by the window with two cushions and a coffee table.
A desk and TV across the bed.
The desk has a chair on casters and is designed for work.
The room key was an old style key.
The room is simple, but it western and clean.
The shower room has a glass door.
The sink and mirror were both very big.
The toilet with a washlet was nice, but it was right next to the sink, which was a little crowded. The bathroom was very compact.
On the right side of the sink was a bathtub. The faucet and shower were clean.
The bath salt on the bathtub was nice.
The shower room was also cleaned. The water pressure for the shower was strong enough.
Shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the shower room.
Amenity placed on the wash basin is completed with a comb, cotton set, shower cap, toothbrush set, T-shaped razor and more.
The cafe corner is in a drawer by the TV.
Inside the drawer is a small kettle, several tea packs, glasses teacups and wine glasses.
There was no drink in the refrigerator, and there was a wine cooler that could contain ice. You can put enough things you have bought.
There were ten hangers prepared.
The safe had depth, so wallets, passports, tablets and so on will fit inside.
There was an umbrella, slippers, laundry bags and so on.
The window was big, but the view was of a building across the road.
You can look down to the streets.
It was a business district.
The hotel has 5 restaurants and bars. “B-ONE” where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and buffet-style meals, Japanese cuisine “Koma” using fresh local ingredients, “TOSCANA” Italian restaurant, Chinese and Western cuisine Western-style cuisine “Gion” and British “Henry’s Bar.”
I had breakfast at “B-ONE.” The breakfast buffet is arranged in a casual atmosphere.
Orange juice and grapefruit juice.
Fried rice and fried noodles.
The mini meat bun was delicious.
The hotel has a business center, SPA and a gym. The business center offers private secretarial services, printing, copying and faxing. Sherwood SPA on the 20th floor offers a variety of finest treatments.
There was a gift shop near the front desk on the 1st floor. There is also an underground parking lot that guests can use it for free.
The hotel is in a banking district.
There are a number of bakeries and restaurants, Chinese restaurants, and convenience stores. There is a store in Hangzhou Xiaolong Bao across the road in front of the hotel. There is a pineapple cake shop called Sangyo Sanso, although it is a little far away, and there is a small dragon parcel shop such as Suhang Dim Sum and Small Shanghai. It takes about 20 minutes to get there, so it is convenient to take the bus.
It is a 5-minute drive from Taipei Songshan Airport and a 40-minute drive from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. It is about a 10-minute drive to Xinyi District and Taipei 101 of shopping and office districts. The Taipei Arena, used for events, is a few minutes’ walk away, and the nearest MRT station is Zhongshan Kuninaka Station on the Wenhu Line, about a 6-minute walk. From the MRT Wenhu Line, you can go to each sightseeing spot, but a taxi is convenient for getting around the city. The hotel has a transfer service to the airport.
The staff were very kind. If you have any questions during your stay, you can ask easily.
There were many businessmen at the breakfast venue. I also noticed many Westerners staying at this hotel.
Although it is the highest-ranked hotel in the Taipei Hotel, it feels a bit old in the building compared to a hotel of the same class because it has been open since 1990. But the room was renovated, so it was clean and new. Still, isn’t it attractive to stay at a reasonable price? The deluxe room that I stayed in was big, the bed was comfortable, and the sofa was comfortable.
Although it was a luxury hotel, I was able to spend time like I was staying at home. If you leave the hotel, it is an office district with many banks. MRT stations are a little too far away for regular use. This hotel is especially recommended for those who mainly take taxis, those who are accustomed to Taipei, and business people.
