Detailed review & photos “SpringHill Suites by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Bayfront”

The building was modern with the color yellow used as an accent.

“InterContinental San Diego” was next door and there was a shared rotary in front of the two hotels.

The entrance was very big.

If you park your car in the parking lot you can get in from the 2nd floor entrance.

There were big windows in the lobby and chairs, sofas and tables were set along the windows.

There was also a store in the corner of the lobby.

You can have detox water.

The front desk was not very big. There was also a concierge desk where you can get help.

I stayed in a corner room on the top floor, so the view from the room was wonderful. I was thrilled to see airplanes taking off and landing nearby. The size fo the room was just right for two people.

There was a cafe corner and a closet on the right and a sofa and table next to it.

Across the sofa was a TV.

There were empty drawers under the TV.

There was a bed at the back of the room. It was a king size bed that was very comfortable to sleep on. The hotel is close to the airport, but I did not hear the sound of airplanes flying at all.

There was a desk across the bed.

The desk faces the window, so you can work while enjoying the nice view.

I was able to enjoy the view from two windows facing different directions and it was breathtaking! It is also a perfect room to stay in for those who love airplanes. You can see the planes landing and taking off from San Diego International Airport clearly, and the contrast between the bay and the tall buildings was very nice. There was nothing blocking the view and I was satisfied with the scenery.

The city lights were beautiful as well.

There was a sink, toilet and a shower room all in one space. It was a very big bathroom with a window next to the toilet. It was warm and bight in the morning.

The shower had a glass door, so I did not have to worry about water splashing on the floor.

The shower-head was fixed on the wall and the water pressure was just right. “Tea Tree” shampoo, conditioner and body soap were prepared.

There were two extra toilet papers, hand soap and body lotion prepared on the sink.

There was a closet next to the entrance with a mirror on the door which was useful for checking my outfit. It was not a big closet and there was an iron, ironing board and a baggage rack prepared inside, so there was not enough space to hang extra clothes in. I was only staying for 1 night, so it was not a problem for me. I did not see a safe anywhere in the room.

There was a cafe corner next to the closet with a microwave, ice pale, coffee machine, coffee capsules and paper cups prepared. You can have free coffee and tea at the breakfast venue as well. If you are a Marriott member, you can have one free bottle of water.

There was a fridge, but nothing was prepared inside. However, it was nice to be able to keep what I bought at the store cold.

You can have breakfast for free on the 2nd floor.

Breakfast was served buffet style and the food was simple, but the staff were cheerful creating a fun atmosphere.

The food was good for a free meal.

I had a nice breakfast.

There was a store next tot he front desk.

They were selling snacks, sandwiches, drinks and so on.

There was an outdoor pool on the 2nd floor and I could see it from the breakfast venue. The skyscrapers around pool looked picturesque. It was nice to be able to see San Diego Bay from the pool.

A gym open 24 hours a day. There were many exercise equipments prepared.

There was a parking lot where you can park your car, but it costs extra money.

I saw quite a few families at the breakfast venue. I was surprised to see so many families because it was quiet in the hotel at night. Many of the guests were staying to go sightseeing. I also saw a couple of business people staying.

It was a short walk to “USS MIDDWAY MUSEUM.”

There was a port for cruise ships right in front of the hotel.
