Detailed review & photos “San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina”

What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception

IMG_0804.jpg (2)

The hotel is an oval, curvilinear, mirrored high-risen building consisting of two buildings, the North Tower and the South Tower.

IMG_0804.jpg (9)

There was a Bellboy in a cool uniform escorting guests who have arrived at the entrance.

IMG_0804.jpg (5)

Here, you can get off and on Uber and taxis.

The lobby was spacious with a high ceiling. There were no sofas and only a couple of chairs.

IMG_0804.jpg (36)

At the right side of the entrance was the front desk.

IMG_0804.jpg (8)

Two booths supported the check-in procedure.

IMG_0804.jpg (3)

There was a concierge desk and a bell desk at the lobby, and it was impressive that many staff members were divided and each had their own jobs.

What is the One Bedroom Bay View Room like?

IMG_0804.jpg (37)

Guest room entrance door.

IMG_0804.jpg

The room was a common room, with a carpet floor. From the window at the back you can see the San Diego Bay, a private boat anchored in the marina, a naval shipyard and etc. This room was very satisfying in many ways.

IMG_0804.jpg (33)

The bed was large and comfortable, so I was able to sleep very well.

IMG_0804.jpg (15)

There were drawers to the bedside table.

IMG_0804.jpg (30)

Across the bed was a TV and a desk.

IMG_0804.jpg (27)

TV.

IMG_0804.jpg (13)

There was a mirror above the desk.

IMG_0804.jpg (25)

They have a yoga channel, so you can do yoga in the room.

IMG_0804.jpg (32)

There was a sofa, an ottoman and a table by the window.

IMG_0804.jpg (28)

The sofa becomes a bed.

IMG_0804.jpg (17)

The room seen from the window.

IMG_0804.jpg (23)

I could open the window 20 cm. On the night I checked in, they were screening Aladdin on a big scree by the pool, and it felt like I was staying at a Disney hotel. During the daytime, I enjoyed looking at the boats and the streets in Colorado.

Facilities in the hotel

IMG_0804.jpg (53)

The hotel had an outdoor pool. There were two pools in the same place. I stayed during summer vacation, so many children were playing in the pool.

IMG_0804.jpg (55)

There were a lot of chairs and tables with a parasol.

IMG_0804.jpg (56)

Deck chairs.

IMG_0804.jpg (50)

There was also a jacuzzi, and it was very crowded.

IMG_0804.jpg (54)

There was also a garden like area.

IMG_0804.jpg (51)

There was a huge chair.

IMG_0804.jpg (52)

At night, Disney films are being screened on the big screen, and children were playing in the pool even after 8:00 pm. I have stayed at this hotel several times, this is only done during summer vacation, and the pool is usually more quiet.

IMG_0804.jpg (61)

There was a gym that is open 24 hours a day.

IMG_0804.jpg (57)

There were computers and a printer prepared at the business center.

IMG_0804.jpg (66)

There was a ball room at the back of the lobby. There are many meetings and events being held here.

IMG_0804.jpg (59)

A phone charging station.

IMG_0804.jpg (60)

You can also have your shoes shined.

I saw two ATMs in the hotel.

Environment around the hotel

I think the area around the hotel is a safe area. I think it is especially convenient for those staying on a business trip.

Staff and customer base

The staff always know what they are doing. San Diego, like New York and San Francisco, has a high parking fee of $50 for a valley and $35 for self parking. I asked about parking when checking in and the staff kindly told me that there is a place to park in the hotel for elite guests, and I was really moved by the self parking service in the hotel. Overall, the hospitality was amazing.

IMG_0804.jpg (8)

There were a lot of people staying for business and families who were on summer vacation. It is a upper class hotel, so the guests seemed upper class as well. Everyone were well mannered.

Access

The hotel is 10 to 15 minutes away from San Diego International Airport. The area around the hotel is downtown, so there are many bars, restaurants, tourist attractions and souvenir shops, so it is very convenient place for tourists. However, I also saw some homeless people on the streets. When I went shopping on the beach side promenade, there were a branch and Seaport Village, and I was not troubled to find the San Diego logo goods. I was able to enjoy sightseeing without spending too much money, because I was able to enjoy bands playing outside and so on.

Summary

I am always able to have a comfortable stay at this hotel. The pool is gorgeous and the fitness center is very nice, so I was able to enjoy myself at the hotel. Also, there is a bar restaurant on the first floor that serves food even after 11:00 and I enjoyed the nice atmosphere. Unless there was a big event at the next convention center, it was not so crowded, but this time it was summer vacation and close to Father’s Day, so the hotel was very crowded. I requested a room upgrade, but it was too crowded for a corner room with a balcony. I would like to come back when the room prices are a little cheaper.
