I decided to stay at the "Sheraton La Jolla," because their homepage showed a photo of a carp swimming and it looked very nice. I thought it was nice to be able to get to tourist destinations by car. There were also famous restaurants in the hotel which was convenient.

There was a big sign in front of the hotel. There were kick-boards lying around here and there free for anyone to use.
There were tropical tress planted everywhere.
The hotel was spread out, but there were signs everywhere so that you will not get lost.
This is the building with the lobby and the restaurant.
There were pamphlets next to the entrance.
There was a bar on the right, the front desk and sofa on the left.

What is the Large Room with a Sofa Bed like?
Guest room entrance door
The sunlight coming in through the big window felt very nice. The wooden furnitures made it feel like a resort hotel. The bed was tall, big and very comfortable to sleep on. There was a table on both sides of the bed and an outlet as well.
The TV was big.
There was a desk with a phone, memo pad and hotel information.
There was a sofa and table. The cushions had a cute design.

The window was big with blinds.
My room had a nice view of the courtyard, but was far away from the pool, so I was able to spend a quiet and relaxing time in the room.

Bathroom
There was a bathtub/shower, sink and a toilet in the same room. It was a very clean bathroom.
The shower was fixed on the wall. The curtain was doubled, but it was a little thin.
The sink was spacious.
Amenities were prepared on the counter. There was shampoo, conditioner, body soap, body lotion, mouthwash, cotton swabs, hand soap, plastic cups covered with vinyl covers, etc.

Closet and safe
There was a closet with depth. Bathrobes, umbrella, iron and an iron was prepared inside.
There was a safe under the kitchen counter. It was big enough to store a 15-inch computer.

Mini bar and cafe
There was a kitchen with a sink and a microwave.
There was a coffee machine, Starbucks coffee and TAZO tea prepared on the counter.
There was also an ice pale, cups, bottles of water and popcorn.
There was a fridge, but nothing was prepared inside.

Restaurants in the hotel
There was a restaurant called “Humphreys La Jolla Grill” on the first floor. The restaurant had a bar inside. They were having a karaoke night on the day I stayed and it was crowded with locals as well as guests.
There were menus at the entrance.

Facilities in the hotel
There was a big outdoor pool at the center of the hotel that you can get to with your room key. You can order drinks at the bar and drink outside. Towels were prepared in a box like a vending machine, and it was designed so that you can get one by by sliding your room key into a slot.
There was a jacuzzi next to the pool and there were also many deck chairs and tables by the pool. It was like a jungle around the pool.
Behind the pool was a pond with carps swimming in it and it was a very beautiful courtyard.
There was a gym with a view of the courtyard.
There was also a club lounge.
There were snacks.
Guests can have two free drinks during cocktail hour.
There were also appetizers.
Salad, pasta and sandwiches.
They were serving breakfast in the morning as well.
It was buffet style.

Hotel Surroundings
The hotel was just off the highway and across it was the UCSD College. Even though it was a college town, it was clean and quiet. I was able to ride a bus to the downtown area, so it was a convenient location even without a car. Also, the La Jolla area, which is one of the main tourist attractions of San Diego, was easy to get to. I enjoyed staying in a location convenient to get to tourist spots, but also away from crowds.
Shopping mall just down down the hill.
I was able to walk to the Birch Aquarium.

Staff and Guests
The staff standing at the front desk were friendly and always greeted the guests with a smile. The staff working at the lounge were also very friendly and attentive.
Many of the guests were tourists coming to see San Diego. I also saw some people at the lounge who seemed to be staying on a business trip.

Access
It is about 20 minutes north of the airport. There was a small shopping center right by the hotel with a liquor shop which was convenient. I enjoyed taking a walk by the ocean and around the city. I enjoyed the view of the beach from above the hill. You can also ride the electric kick-board around the city which may be more convenient for some people.

Summary
This time, I was staying with my husband who was staying on a business trip, but I was able to enjoy a relaxing vacation. I had a nice time at the club lounge where they were serving appetizers and drinks. I also had fun at the restaurant listening to people sing karaoke while I had a nice dinner. Even though I was alone most of the time, there was plenty to do around the hotel and even in the hotel. I would love to stay here again.
