I chose "Courtyard San Diego Old Town," because it is in the middle of Old Town, close to the highway exit, and close to the restaurant I wanted to go to. I once visited Old Town when I went to SeaWorld, and I was fascinated by the Mexican style city and I wanted to visit here again. This time, I came to San Diego on a business trip, and I chose this hotel for the above reasons, plus the retro and lovely appearance of the hotel that matched Old Town.

The hotel was retro, designed to blend in with the Old Town.
The entrance was very colorful.

A small front desk was on the left, but the check-in procedure went very smoothy.
There were sofas and tables in the lobby.
There was a group of people in the lobby that enjoyed dinner ordered from the bar as if the lobby was a restaurant, and it was very lively.
The ceiling was very high and it was very beautiful.
There was flavored water prepared in the lobby.

What is the One Bedroom Suite like?
You can unlock the door by using your phone.
I was surprised to see how big the room was. There were so many rooms.

Dining table.
There was a sofa and a TV in the room on the left side of the room. The door behind the TV is the door to the toilet.
There was storage space under the TV.

The bedroom was on the left side of the dining/living room.

The room had a spacious balcony which I could get to from the living room. According to the staff, this room is the only room with a balcony. Maybe all the rooms looked spacious because there is a balcony.
The balcony had a table and four chairs, and it has no roof, so I was able to do computer work while looking up at the sky.
The bedroom was also spacious. The bed was kept clean and I was able to get a good nights sleep.
There was a bathroom in the bed room.
There was no wall separating the bedroom and the bathtub, there was a bathtub in the middle of the room and it felt like a suite.
There was a TV opposite the bed.
There was storage space under this TV as well.
There was a desk and a chair across the bedroom door. The door seen to the left of the desk is the closet.
I could see the balcony from the window of the bedroom.

Bathroom
There were two toilets; one in the living room, and one in the bedroom bathroom. This toilet is the living room toilet.
There was a sink in front of the living room toilet.

There is a shower room at the back, but there was no partition and it was spacious.
The shower head was fixed on the wall. The water pressure was a little weak, but I thought it was deliberate to avoid overflow.
In the shower room, bottles of body soap, shampoo and conditioner were prepared. It was a brand called TEA TREE and the quality was normal.
The Jacuzzi was large enough for two people to get inside, and even large enough for a whole family as well. The design was retro.
There was soap on the bathtub.
I made a bubble bath by putting the soap in the bathtub.

Hand soap and body soap were prepared on the washstand.

Closet and safe
There was a closet in the bedroom. Inside the closet was an iron, ironing board, luggage rack, gowns and disposable slippers. There was no safe.

Mini bar and cafe
There is a kitchen in the room which was convenient. A microwave and refrigerator was also installed. There was nothing in the refrigerator, and it was nice to be able to cool beer that I bought.
There is also a cafe corner with a coffee maker, regular coffee and a decaf coffee. The taste was normal.
Also, I got a small gift bag with water, a small bag of chips and an energy bar when I checked in.

Restaurants in the hotel
There is a “Bistro” on the first floor which is open for mornings and nights.
The cobb salad seemed very popular.

Facilities in the hotel
There was an outdoor pool. It was small but nice with a jacuzzi.
Because it faces the street and the meeting room, I was worried that people will be able to see me walking around in a swimsuit. I did not see people swimming in the pool.
There was a fitness center which is open 24 hours a day.
The laundry room.
Two computers were installed near the front desk.

There was also an ATM.

Environment around the hotel
Around the hotel, there were some homeless people siting around. Not only around the hotel, but I saw many around Old Town. They begged for money, but did not come near me. The street where the restaurant is located is bright and it was safe to walk around, but the area around Old Town Amtrak station is not very safe.

Staff and customer base
The hospitality the staff was good. The staff were friendly, making sure that I have a comfortable stay.
Most of the guests were tourists and businessmen. I did not see many kids. It was a very calm atmosphere.

Access
The hotel is close to the airport. As it is right next to the highway exit, access by car was convenient. You can also walk from Amtrak’s Old Town Station. It is perfect for sightseeing in Old Town, and you can enjoy walking around. There are restaurants that are relatively late that are within walking distance.

A famous restaurant called “Cafe Coyote” near the hotel.
I had Mexican food for dinner.

Summary
I would definitely like to come and stay in the same room again! The rooms were very spacious, and I was able to have a nice and relaxing stay. Having a jacuzzi, a bathtub, and an open shower was the best part. This hotel is located in Old Town, so everything is within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay very much, and I highly recommend staying at this hotel.
