I decided to stay at "Echo Bali Beach Villas by The Kunci," because it is a reasonable hotel in a convenient location with good reviews. This was my first time traveling to Bali, so I was looking for a hotel in a safe neighborhood in Canggu. In terms of a good location, I liked the fact that it was easy to access places within the Canggu area. I was also attracted by the high score of 5.0 on the booking site.
What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception
The hotel looked like an ordinary two story building. There were no signs in front of the hotel, so it is hard to tell that it is a hotel.
There was no such thing as a front desk, and the staff just handed me the key to my villa. The staff are living across the hotel, so they will help you out 24 hours a day.
The door to the villa was a wooden door.
There were two locks.
There was a painting and a flower decorated by the entrance.
This is a villa with a kitchen/dining space, living room and a pool on the first floor, and a bedroom and bathroom on the second floor.
There are stairs that will take you up to the second floor.

What is the One Bedroom Villa like?
The villa was spacious and clean. The kitchen/dining space on the 1st floor was an open air.
The living room had a stylish interior with a TV and a comfortable sofa.
You can stretch your legs and relax on the sofa.
You can watch Netflix on this TV. Rainy seasons in Bali have heavy rainfalls making it impossible to go out, so it is nice that you can stay indoors and watch Netflix.
Going upstairs, there was a spacious bedroom. The bed was king size and comfortable to sleep on. The pillow was a little too thick for my taste.
There was a cabinet and a desk across the bed.

Bathroom
There was a bathroom with a bathtub and shower booth. The bathtub had a very interesting design. I had trouble with the faucet and the plug, but it worked perfectly fine after it was fixed.
There was an overhead shower and a hand shower.
Shampoo and conditioner was prepared next to the shower.
There was a double sink.
Hand soap, two toothbrushes and a toothpaste was prepared on the counter.
Hair dyer.

Closet and safe
The closet was as high as the ceiling.
There were 10 hangers, ironing board and an iron prepared inside.
There was plenty of storage space.
It is a perfect closet for a long-term stay.

Kitchen
There was kitchen.
Glasses and cups.
Chinaware.
Silverware and coking utensils.
There was also a toaster, rice cooker, blender and a coffee machine. There was tea, but no coffee, so it is best to buy your own at the supermarket.
There was a water server and a fridge.
The fridge was medium size with nothing inside.
There was a bar counter next to the kitchen.
There was also a dining table. It is a perfect set-up for when you cook your own meal.

Facilities in the hotel
There was a pool that was cleaned everyday. At 8am, the automatic water jet will start to operate.
The depth of the pool is not constant, but gradually increases from the beach bed side to the kitchen side. The pool was in the shade until 12pm.
There was a shower right next to the pool which was convenient not having to go up to the bathroom on the second floor.

Hotel Surroundings
The hotel was located in a safe neighborhood, but the streets were dark with only farms with cows here and there. There are many famous restaurants and sunset spots nearby. You can walk to the beach in about 5 minutes which was convenient.

Staff and Guests
The owner was kind and always greeted me with a nice smile. If there is a problem, the owner will explain the situation to the staff in advance and then dealt with it. You can communicate with the owner by using an app called “Whatsapp.”
According to the owner, there are many families, couples and groups of people that stay at this hotel. There is a villa with two bedroom that accommodates up to 4 people.

Access
It takes about an hour when the roads are not crowded, and about an hour and a half to 2 hours if it is crowded. Sometimes the address in Bali is wrong, it is not registered in Google Map, or even if it is registered, a pin will appear in a different place. If you get lost it is best to contact the owner. The Canggu area has become quite developed, so it is a very convenient area, and there are many places where you can go shopping, eating and drinking within walking distance. However, I think that it is becoming difficult to call this as a means of transportation because the restrictions on Gojek and Grab of Uber Indonesia version are becoming strict around the villa. It takes about 1 hour by car from the villa to Ubud, and about 30 minutes to Seminyak and Kerobokan.

Summary
I had a nice stay at this villa. I would definitely like to stay here again. It was very clean and I was impressed with the TV that allows you to watch Netflix. The villa is located in the prosperous part of Cangga, but the villa was hidden in the back which was quiet and private. I had a very good time thanks to the generous hospitality of the owner. I highly recommended staying here for your trip to Bali!
