"Hotel New Grand" is located in an outstanding location right in front of Yamashita Park. The main building is a famous classic hotel. In 1992, it became a historic building certified by the City of Yokohama, and in 2007 it became a Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. It also has been selected as a modern industrial heritage site where many celebrities stayed, including Marshall MacArthur, Charlie Chaplin, Babe Ruth. The rooms in the Tower Building have been renovated and I was interested see what it was like.

I could see the city of Yokohama from the big window. I could see Yamashita Park, Yokohama Port, Minato Mirai Landmark Tower, Ferris Wheel, Red Brick, and the Diamond Princess, a luxury cruise liner.
The night view was also gorgeous.

The staff standing at the entrance guided me to the front desk. In addition, the staff at the front desk was very kind and brought my luggage up to my room. I was impressed at how helpful and hard working the they all were.
I saw elderly couples, Western and foreign couples, and young couples staying. Many of them seemed to be Japanese and Westerners. They were all well mannered.
