Detailed review & photos “APA Hotel ＆ Resort Yokohama Bay Tower”

The hotel is a 35-story, 2 basement building located in the Minatomirai 21 and Kannai districts of Yokohama. It just opened on September 20, 2019.

The word “luxurious” is perfect for describing the hotel. It felt as if I was staying at a hotel in Las Vegas.

The lobby was big with a ceiling going up to the 3rd floor.

There was an express machine in front desk. It was very useful to be able to check in on my own when it was crowded. There was also a express checkout machine where you insert your room key into a slot.

There was a door between the corridors and the elevator hall, so security was good.

You will need your room key in order to get passed the door.

There was a bathroom on the right and a hanging space on the left.

The room was only 11 square meters wide which was small, but of course everything was new and luxurious.

There was a chandelier.

There were two hotel original beds “Cloud Fit SP” made in pursuit of a good night’s sleep and two “Air Relax” original pillows.

There was a light switch, air-conditioner control panel, an outlet and a USB port on the headboard. There was also an alarm and a tissue on the headboard.

There was a lamp and an outlet on the other side of the bed as well.

There was a big TV across the bed with information about the hotel, such as how crowded the public bath is. In addition, there is a “mirroring function” that projects photos and videos from your device on to the TV screen. It was very high tech.

There was a large mirror above the bed.

There was a notice saying that you can store your luggage under the bed.

Pajamas, hair dyer and drinks were in the drawers.

There was a window behind the bed. I booked a room with a view of Minatomirai and I could also see the Bay Bridge.

The sunrise was beautiful.

The ferris wheel was lit up and very beautiful.

I was very satisfied with the view I had from my room.

The bathroom was not big, but was very functional.

The shower was a removable hand shower. The water pressure was also strong enough.

Shower, conditioner and body soap were prepared by the shower.

The mirror had an anti-fog.

Amenities included a toothbrush set, hairbrush, body towels, razors, cotton, individually wrapped cotton swabs, shower caps, hair elastics, individually wrapped hotel original paper cups. The glass cups were unbreakable.

The bath and face towels had the hotel logo on it and it was very soft.

There was a hanging space at the entrance. You can hang umbrellas, bags and other personal items.

There was a cabinet with glasses inside.

There was powdered coffee and green tea with words of thanks from the president and chairman. There were also two individually wrapped paper cups. This paper cup had the APA Hotel logo on it and was a very nice paper cup.

There was a fridge, but nothing was inside it. You can buy drinks and snacks at the convenience store.

Dinner is included in my plan, so I was able to choose from three restaurants in the hotel. I chose the brewery restaurant “REVO BREWING” on the first floor.

Here, you can enjoy 20 kinds of draft beer, including authentic American beer, freshly brewed in-house beer, limited beer and collaboration beer.

The beer glass had a picture of the president’s face on it! Every dish was delicious, and above all, craft beer was so delicious and blissful that you would want to come back for another drink.

I decided to have breakfast at “LA VERANDA” on the third floor, but I was escorted to a banquet hall instead.

There may have been too many people staying at the hotel.

Food was delicious.

There was a gift shop called “haishop” on the first floor. It was a very stylish shop.

There were two convenience stores on the 4th floor.

There was a public bath and an open-air bath on the 4th floor. It was a spacious and luxurious bath. It was a very popular public bath in this area.

A gym on the 4th floor. Guests can use it for free from 6 am to 10 pm.

There was also an outdoor pool on the 4th floor. Since it is an outdoor pool it is only open during summer time. Opening hours are from 9:00 to 18:00 during the swimming period, and from 18:00 to 22:00 thereafter, only the poolside terrace can be used free of charge. Outside the swimming period at this time, it was possible to use the poolside terrace free from 9:00 to 22:00.

There was also a coin laundry on the 4th floor. There were a total of 11 machines, three in the men’s dressing room, three in the women’s dressing room, and five in the common area near the women’s public bath. I thought it was very convenient to have a coin laundry in the dressing rooms.

I saw a couple of foreign tourists, but there were mostly Japanese people staying. I saw many couples, families and senior women in groups.
