Detailed review & photos “Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality”

This hotel is attached to a shopping mall and looks like it’s built on the top of it.

The entrance was a little hard to find, but it was very spacious.

The front desk was big for a four-star hotel.

The hotel is Peranakan-themed and the interior of the lobby is decorated in Peranakan style. It was not typically gorgeous, but it was designed throughly.

There were two chairs prepared by the elevator.

The room was a Peranakan style room. Peranakan tiles and decorations were used in the room. I think the lace is made by a machine, but it was still Peranakan style. It was a very stylish and spacious room.

The bed was king size, but a little smaller compared to other hotels. The pillow and mattress were both comfortable, and I was able to sleep very well.

There was a TV, a desk and a luggage stand across the bed. There was a smart phone which I could use freely during my stay.

There was a sofa and a table by the window.

There was a balcony.

There were two Peranakan style chairs on the balcony.

Next to the hotel was a multi-story car park and a condominium. I could see the multi-storey car park right in front of me.

The view was the only disappointing thing about this hotel.

There was a bathtub right next to the bed. I was able to drink wine in the bathtub while watching TV.

There were two entrances to the bathroom; one right next to the bathtub and the other by the entrance to the room.

There was shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and body soap by the bathtub.

There was a sink, toilet and a shower room in the bathroom. The bathroom was stylish, with wooden flooring and walls and Peranakan decorations.

The shower room had a glass door with a shower fixed on the wall fixed and a removable hand shower. I was able to take a shower comfortably.

There was also shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and body soap prepared in the shower room.

On the toilet tank was an extra toilet paper and a sanitary bag.

The sink was spacious and the mirror was big.

There was also a magnifying mirror.

There were amenities prepared on the sink.

There was a toothbrush, soap, shaver and cotton. However, shaver blade was a little dull.

There was a closet on the right, after entering the room.

There were hangers, a scale, bathrobes, slippers and a safe in the closet.

There was also an iron, ironing board and an umbrella. It was unusual for a four-star hotel to have this many things prepared.

The cafe corner was at the edge of the desk. There was an electric kettle, cups, two free bottles of water, tee and instant coffee.

There was also a Peranakan tea set. It had a cute design.

There was a fridge, but there was nothing inside and it was also not very cool.

There was a restaurant called “Katong Kitchen” in the hotel where I had breakfast.

There were seats facing the window.

Breakfast was buffet style. It is open for dinner, and it is also buffet style as well.

There were many dishes to pick from.

At the egg station, the cool will make your eggs just how you like it.

There were hot drinks as well.

There was an outdoor pool next to the main dining room. It was a circular pool with a radius of about 5-10m at most and was not very big. There are deck chairs surrounding the pool. In the valley of the building, plants are planted around the pool, so you can relax. On the day I stayed, there were several couples swimming in the pool with their children. The advantage of the pool being small is that it is easier to watch your children.

There was a gym which is open 24 hours a day.

There are computers prepared in the lobby which you can use for free.

Five Star famous for its chicken rice.

There were people from all over the world staying at this hotel. There seemed to be many people staying on a business trip. The guests were well mannered and I felt comfortable around them.
