Detailed review & photos “YotelAir Singapore Changi Airport, Singapore”

What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception

IMG_1009 (2)

There was a hotel in the commercial facility “JEWEL” which is connected with Changi Airport. The entrance was on the 4th floor of “JEWEL.” Rooms are on the 4th and 5th floors.

The hotel was just renovated and futuristic with a robotic check-in systems. There were two staff at the lobby. The passport information is read into the machine and self-check-in, but the hotel staff just spoke at the time of check-in, and the check-in procedure was done at the front desk. If you are not familiar with how to check-in, the staff will help you out.

What is the Premium Queen Bed Room like?

IMG_1009(14)

There was a desk right by the door.

IMG_1009(10)

The room was very narrow. One third of the room is taken over by the bed. There is a description on the homepage that two people can stay, and the bed is made so that two people can sleep, but I think two people staying in this room is tough. Because it was a closed room with no windows, it felt stuffy even when staying alone. I could not see the outside, so I didn’t know if it was morning or night. In addition, the sheets were clean, but there were a couple of places covered in dust which bothered me a little. The pink light may be fashionable, but it was hard to see and a little uncomfortable.

IMG_1009(11)

The bed angle can be adjusted.

IMG_1009(4)

I was able to sleep on the bed comfortably. The queen size bed was big enough for one person to sleep on.

The room is narrow, so the desk could be put away.

Bathroom

IMG_1009(10)

There was a bathroom behind the bed. The bathroom has a transparent wall, so you can see the inside from the bedroom. The curtain is on the bedroom side, so if you are staying with two people, you should be careful.

IMG_1009

There was a shower.

IMG_1009(8)

There was a hand shower and there was no problem with water pressure and temperature adjustment. However, there are no doors or curtains in the shower room, and the partitions are not solid, so the floor got wet. No matter how hard you try, it is impossible not to splash water outside.

IMG_1009(17)

There was shampoo, conditioner and body soap prepared in the shower.

IMG_1009(3)

There was a bath towel hanging in front of the toilet.

IMG_1009(1)

There was a big mirror in front of the sink.

IMG_1009(12)

There were toothbrushes and glasses prepared on the sink.

IMG_1009(13)

Next to the sink was a hand soap.

IMG_1009(5)

There was a shelf next to the sink with face towels, hand towels and a hair dryer.

IMG_1009(18)

The hair dryer was in a bag.

Mini bar and cafe

There was no coffee or tea in the room, but you can get some drinks for free at the lounge. There were only two free bottles of water prepared on the desk.

Restaurants in the hotel

There was a lounge in the hotel where you can have breakfast. Because breakfast is charged extra, I did not eat here this time, but when I glanced inside, it was a buffet style breakfast. There are many restaurants in JEWEL, so I recommend eating there.

You can see the fountain and it was a quiet space far from the shopping mall.

Hotel surroundings

JEWEL has stores that are open 24 hours, so it is always crowded. However, the noise did not bother me in at the hotel. There are massages, barbers, souvenir shops and general stores near the hotel. There are several restaurants, such as Shake Shack, Taiho Yuan, ALLOY of Tapioca, so you can chooses from many different restaurants. I went to Shake Shack for dinner this time, but the store was lined up with people and it took about 20 minutes to order. The restaurant was lively and the atmosphere was nice.

Staff and guests

Check-out was done by the machine, so it was only during check-in that I was able to talk with the staff. At first I tried self-check-in, but had trouble figuring out how to use it. A staff standing in the lobby helped me out which was very kind of her.

IMG_1009 (3)

Most guests who stay here only staying for a short time. The hotel is not extremely cheap, so the guests staying were upper class and very well mannered. I saw people from all over the world staying at this hotel.

Access

From the airport to JEWEL, if you are in terminal 1, exit the lobby and it will be right in front of you. From Terminal 2, about 10 minutes from the bridge on the 3rd floor of the airport, and from Terminal 3, it is about 5 minutes by bridge from the departure lobby level. You do not have to worry about getting wet because it is indoors. The closest to the hotel is the bridge entrance from Terminal 2, and when you go up the escalator just after entering the entrance, you will find the hotel entrance on the 4th floor. Although it depends on the purpose of accommodation, it is very comfortable for people who have business at the airport, such as transit, and want to stay overnight.

Summary

This hotel was not suitable for me. I could not relax in the small room, because I am claustrophobic. Even if I am stay in transit, I feel like I can’t sleep because I don’t want to oversleep. On the other hand, the location is great, so it is highly recommended for those who do not care about the size of the room. There are hotels adjacent to airports in various places, but it is rare to be in a huge and well-equipped commercial facility like JEWEL. It is such a big place, I was not able to visit all the places. Even if you are not interested in shopping, there is a park on the top floor which looked like fun. You will never get bored staying here.
