I chose “Village Hotel Changi-Far East Hospitality,” because it was the highest grade hotel near Ubin Island. Ubin Island is located in the northeast of Singapore, near the airport. Untouched nature is left behind, and foreigners living in Singapore often take a break here on holidays. I also wanted to relax a little in nature and was looking for a hotel. This hotel was highly rated by guests for its price, and it was quite good when I stayed at another village hotel in Katong.
What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception
The hotel had an interesting design with colorful and decorated balconies.
Drive-in.
Entrance.
There were several doors at the entrance.
The design of the entrance lobby is simple overall, but it is spacious and comfortable. There was a front desk on the right side of the entrance.
Compared to the size of the hotel, the front desk was small and was always crowded. Since there is an express checkout where you can only return your key, you may want to avoid accounting for the room as much as possible and avoiding any procedures at checkout.
A lobby lounge.
There was a grand piano in the lobby making the space elegant.
Lobby floor elevator hall.
Inside of the elevator.
Guest room floor elevator.
The hotel is a triangular building with a central atrium.
Guest room floor corridor.

What is the Junior Suite like?
Guest room door.
The bedroom is on the right of the entrance.
The bathroom is on the left side of the bedroom.
Like the lobby and entrance, the room is spacious with a simple design. For example, the sofa is half-sunk in the wall of the window and is simple. It is not a luxury resort hotel, but was still able to enjoy my stay.
The bed is a king size bed.
The bed was comfortable to sleep on.
A TV and desk across the bed.
The desk is spacious with an electric kettle and free bottles of water on top.
Sofa by the window.
The window is big and made the room feel spacious.
I could see the ocean from the room.

Bathroom
The bathroom and shower room were separate and it was very spacious.
The bathtub had an elbow table and a window that was connected with the bedroom.
On the bathtub was a shower gel, shampoo and conditioner called ESCAPE. When I put the shower gel in the bathtub and poured hot water, a lot of bubbles came out and it was comfortable.
The shower space had an overhead shower. I loved it because it has a lot of hot water, so even if you don’t get in the bathtub, you can wrap it in hot water and take a bath.
A toilet with a bidet by it.
There were two sinks and it was spacious.
Sink.
There was an ESCAPE brand soap.
There was a tissue, cups and a spare toilet roll on the shelf above the sink.
Amenities were prepared here. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, shower cap, cotton, toothbrush, toothpaste and a shaver.

Restaurants in the hotel
I had breakfast at a restaurant called “Salt Water” on the first floor.
The restaurant had big windows.
There was an outdoor pool next to the restaurant, and the adjoining site was a golf course, so the view was pretty good.
Breakfast was buffet style and there were various dishes including local dishes.
Ham and cheeese.
Warm dishes.
Local dish.
Eggs cooked on the spot.
Drinks.
I was able to have a nutritious breakfast.
A Japanese restaurant called “Nagabei.”
They serve lunch and dinner here.
A bar called “Harry’s.”
It is open from 12:00 noon to 12:00 at night from Monday to Friday, and from 11:00 am to 12:00 at night on Saturday and Sunday.

Facilities in the hotel
The hotel had two outdoor pools. This is a small infinity pool on the rooftop.
The view from the roof was wonderful, and since it was close to the sea and the ship, Changi Airport, I was able to enjoy watching the plane just before landing.
This is the outdoor pool on the first floor. This pool was not big either. I didn’t see anyone swimming in it, because people eating at the restaurant can see the pool very well.
Pool side sofa for relaxing.
There is a gym that is available 24 hours a day.
It was a big gym with a view of the lobby.
There is a club lounge.
This club lounge is only for guests staying in club rooms and suites. I stayed in a junior suite room and was able to use this lounge.
A computer and printer in the lounge.
You can have a light breakfast and drinks.
Also, from 6pm to 8pm every day, you can have cocktails and canapés.

Hotel Surroundings
There are many restaurants around the hotel, such as the Hawker Center and Beer Garden, so you can enjoy walking around the city. There is a park that becomes an island when you cross the bridge, and there are beaches and sculptures. There is a restaurant called The Sea Grill in the center of the park where you can eat seafood in nature while watching the sea. You may need to be careful with homeless people that are here and there. They will annoy you, so I recommend keeping your distance as much as possible.

Staff and Guests
The staff at the hotel were kind, but they can be sneaky and avoid some details. Similar opinions were found in reviews of travel sites. If you think something is wrong, it is better to back down on the subject.
There seemed to be many people in transit. Most of the guests staying in
standard grade rooms were Malaysian, and high grade rooms with executive lounge access were mostly Western.

Access
Because it is located next to the northernmost side of the airport runway, access from the airport is outstanding. There is also a hotel shuttle bus. The security around the hotel is good, but as I mentioned earlier, I sometimes saw homeless people that are rare in Singapore. The ferry terminal to Ubin Island is within walking distance, so it is convenient for going sightseeing in Ubin Island. However, because of the location near the airport, it is inconvenient to get out to the city center. You can either take the bus to the airport or take an MRT or take a taxi.

Summary
You can stay in a junior suite with access to the Executive Lounge for $300, so it’s a great deal to say. The Executive Lounge has cocktail times, snacks and breakfast, and is close to the services of a 5-star hotel. The rooms are large and clean which I was very satisfied with and would like to stay again. One thing to note is that the customer base is extremely divided into two: the Malaysian people who stay in standard rooms, and the Westerners who stay in high-grade rooms with access to the Executive Lounge. There are many standard rooms, and reviews of travel sites often show that the service is not perfect, so I recommend staying in a room with access to the Executive Lounge. Your impression may change depending on the room you stay in.
