Detailed review & photos “Park Avenue Rochester Hotel”

If you go from the station to the hotel, the entrance is behind the hotel building. As there is a signboard of the hotel in front of the hotel, it is easy to find it.

You enter the room using a card key.

As I entered the room, there was a bathroom on the left side, and next to that was a full-length mirror.

Guest room is modern and is stylish. It is narrow, but it is clean and easy to spend time in the room.

The bed mattress is thick and comfortable to sleep on. The pillow was just right.

There was a TV opposite the bed. The positioning of the TV was good even when laying on the bed.

There was a storage space under the TV.

There was a desk and a chair next to the bed and by the window.

On the desk, there was a phone and a smartphone (unlimited 3G data, 10 local/international calls unlimited).

Many Singapore hotels do not have a bathtub, but there was a bathtub at this hotel. It is a bathroom with a very clean feeling, but I thought that the bathtub was a little dirty. I was a little worried, but I filled the bathtub with water and soaked in the bath anyway. Hot water came out properly.

The water pressure of the shower was rather weak. There was no place to adjust the pressure.

The shower curtain is short, so when using the shower, the outside of the bathtub became flooded.

There was a weight scale on a small bench on the wall behind the toilet.

Amenities included shampoo, conditioner, body soap, body oil, toothbrush, cotton swab set, shower cap and so on. There is no razor. Stickers for shampoos and conditioners were put on to prevent the cap from opening. The toothbrush was a bit soft, so if you like a hard toothbrush, it is better to bring your own. There are no water bottles, but the tap water is clean. Singapore is hot all year round, so it would have been nice if there were water bottles to carry around.

The hair dryer was in the closet.

The closet was next to the bed.

The closet is large, so there is a lot of space to put things in it.

Hangers, hair dryer and a safe were in the closet. There was no bathrobe, but if you ask for on they will bring one.

An iron and ironing board was in the closet, and it is very helpful for business travelers.

The cafe corner has an electric kettle, 2 cups and tea pack from Sri Lanka’s famous tea maker Dilmah. There was Earl Gray, green tea and chrysanthemum tea. There was also coffee powder, sugar and creamer. The electric kettle was clean on the inside. The mug was covered with paper so that it won’t get dusty.

Below the cafe corner is a storage space.

There was nothing inside.

There is a refrigerator hidden behind doors as well. There was nothing inside.

I had a breakfast buffet at a restaurant on the first floor.

Various dishes are lined up.

You can also have a warm meal.

They will cook fried eggs in front of you.

I had croissants, sausages, baked beans and a salad.

There is a pool on the third floor.

There are many palm trees on the pool side, and you can feel the southern country. There are also chairs and a table around the pool. There are also a bath towels prepared next to the pool, so there is no need to bring a bath towel from the room. The pool itself was not big. Only a few people can swim in it, so when I swam with another person, we took turns. There is also a Jacuzzi next to the pool.

There is also shower room and a toilet for pool guests only. It was very clean.

There is an area called “Rochester Park” near the hotel, and there are several stylish restaurants. There is a stylish Italian restaurant. There is also a large lawn near the hotel, so I recommend taking a walk there.

There are many offices around the hotel, so I think that there are more business travelers staying than tourists. There were many people in their 30’s and 40’s. I did not see many children.

From Changi Airport, you can go to the nearest station from the hotel (Green Line Tozai Line). It takes about 45 minutes from the airport to the nearest station, Buona Vista Station. You can see the hotel from Buona Vista Station. It takes about 5 minutes walk from the station to the hotel. There is a covered walkway so even if it rains you will not get wet. Singapore is a safe country, but I think the area around the hotel is particularly good. There are few houses and there are more offices around the hotel.

There are many dining options in the nearby shopping mall. You can enjoy a wide range of dishes including Japanese food, Italian and fast food. It is about 30 minutes by MRT to the city area.
