The main reason for choosing "Hyatt Regency McCormick Place" is because it is adjacent to the McCormick Place International Convention Centre. This time I was visiting to attend the Chicago Marathon, and the reception and distribution of the number vests were being done in the conference halls. Therefore, I decided to stay at this hotel, thinking that it would be convenient to walk on foot within the building. In addition, having appropriate training facilities and being able to eat at a restaurant in the hotel casually at a reasonable price was also an important reason for choosing this hotel.

What is the Twin Room like?
Guest room entrance door.
There was a full-length mirror on the left side of the room and a closet next to it. There is a bathroom across the closet.
The guest room was mainly white and modern, creating a cozy feeling. Sound proofing was good and I was able to stay in a very quiet environment. All the furnitures were clean and in good condition. The photographs and paintings with the motif of the building representing Chicago were decorated casually.
The beds was just right size,, height and hardness, so I was able to sleep comfortably.
The bedside table had a phone and an alarm clock.
Opposite the bed was a luggage stand, a TV, a desk and chairs.
The TV seen from the bed.
Luggage stand.
It was nice that there was a large desk, and I thought that it would be nice for people staying for business.
Next to the desk there was a chair.
The room had a large window. Because a solid blackout curtain was installed, I was able to make the room completely dark when going to sleep.
The view from the window was McCormick Place, but I could only see the exterior wall.
I could see Downtown Chicago in the far distance. I could see Michigan Lake too, but it was not the best view.

Environment around the hotel
The hotel is located south of downtown. There are many new buildings in the area, and it is very beautiful. However, there are areas that are said to be dangerous, so I do not recommend walking alone at night. Some people walked from the hotel during the day to Lake Michigan. It is also directly connected to the railway station, and you can use the railway to reach downtown at 2-3 stations.

Staff and customer base
All of the staffs at the hotel were kind and polite, and I felt the hospitality suitable for a high class hotel. Everyone was well trained and professional.
With the hotel attached to McCormick Place, Chicago’s largest convention center, many business people and researchers attending the conference were staying here. Also, many people who were attending the Chicago marathon were staying as well.

Access
From O’Hare airport it takes about 30 to 40 minutes by taxi. You can also take the train as well. There seemed to be no restaurant within walking distance. It is also located just south of downtown, near one corner of Chicago that is considered unsafe. Access to the main tourist spots is within a few minutes by car and it is very convenient. You can easily find taxis, and cars from the car dispatch service will come to the entrance.

Summary
I went to Chicago to participate in the Chicago Marathon. It was my first time, and I enjoyed my stay very much. The furniture of this simple modern hotel was the best for my taste and I was able to stay comfortably. In addition, the restaurant and the stalls are well stocked with products. It was nice to be able to walk to the Conference hall easily. For those who need to be at McCormick Place for business or academic purposes, I recommend staying at this hotel.
