Detailed review & photos “Capella Singapore”

The hotel is close to the main road, but surrounded by a forest so it was a relaxing space. The exterior is an elegant European style building.

There were a ceiling fans at the entrance.

The lobby is rather small, so you may have to share the sofa with other guests.

The lobby overlooks the courtyard and the pool on the 3rd floor, so the view is very nice. The hallway is an atrium with a central courtyard, making the area feel open. Overall, the lobby was a calm space.

There was a bathroom on the right and a full length mirror on the left.

The room I stayed in this time had a garden view. I was impressed with the use of the latest digital devices, such as the curtains opening and closing automatically, and the room’s electricity and air conditioner being controlled with a tablet.

The room had wooden materials creating a warm space.

The bed was very big and mattress was just the right hardness. There were two large pillows with one hard and one soft. There was only one comforter, but they smelled clean.

There was a TV.

On the desk was a phone, memo set and hotel information.

There was also a box with writing utensils which was very considerate of the hotel.

The sofa was not only big, but it was also useful to organize my luggage on top of it.

The balcony was big with arm chairs and tables.

The view of the garden was very nice.

However, you cannot see the famous things on Sentosa Island (for example, USS or Sentosa Summer Lion), just the forest and the ocean behind it. It may be a little unsatisfying for some people. However, it was a noisy at sightseeing spots, so it was a luxury to be able drink tea on the balcony while listening to the birds chirping.

The bathtub, shower room and toilet were all separated.

There was a window next to the bathtub and I could see the outside view through the balcony. Of course, there is a curtain which you can close to maintain privacy.

The bathtub had a shower, but I did not know how to use it. It was a little dirty from not being cleaned well.

There was wash towel, but the texture was a little rough.

There were two types of shower: a rain shower on the ceiling and a shower fixed on the wall. The water pressure could be adjusted and made quite strong. The temperature can reach up to around 42 °C.

The shower space was equipped with Aesop shampoo, conditioner and body soap.

The toilet room was spacious.

There was sanitary bag prepared by the toilet.

There were two sinks with a stool in the middle.

Amenities were prepared on the sink. There were toothbrush sets, combs, nail files, cotton, swabs, shower caps, and Aesop soap. Since there are no skin care products prepared, you will need to bring lotion or cream on your own.

There was a spacious open closet behind the sink. There were hangers, bathrobes, umbrellas, clothes brushes, and a shoe horn inside.

There was a laundry bag in the drawer.

It was nice that the hotel had prepared a insect repelent for inside the room .

There was a shelf beside the TV, and a cafe corner above it. There was a capsule-type coffee machine, electric kettle and an ice bucket.

There were drinks provided in the fridge. Drinks will be added in the evening and if you tell them your favorite drink they will add extra for you.

There are two restaurants; a Chinese-style restaurant and a Western-style restaurant. This time, I went to the Western-style restaurant called “The Noles.”

It was Western style restaurant, but local dishes were also on the menu.

The steak was soft and very delicious. I recommend the Chocolate cake dessert.

There are three pools, each on different floors, and all the pools are infinity pools. The pool in the middle has 50cm in depth and is suitable for children. All pools have benches and bath towels prepared. The staff will bring you cold water for free.

Pool hours are 7:00 – 19:00 and cannot be used at night. There were not many people swimming in the pool, so it was almost a private pool. There were some leaves floating in the pool, but overall it was very clean.

This hotel was the venue for the US-North Korea summit held in June 2018, and the commemorative plate was embedded in the hallway.

I saw many families staying at this hotel. The children were about 3-10 years old, but they were all well behaved.
