What is the Lux Room like?

IMG_0424(1) copy

Guest room entrance door

IMG_0424(12) copy

There was a closet and bathroom on the right and a full length mirror on the left.

IMG_0424.jpg copy copy

The hotel itself is old, but the room was very clean. There was plenty of room for two people to stay in. The housekeeper cleaned my room very well, but sometimes forgot to switch out the glasses which was a little disappointing. Due to many events being held here and there, many people were enjoying them selves until late at night, so I had trouble sleeping.

IMG_0424(14) copy

There were two queen size beds that were very comfortable to sleep on. The pillows were soft for my taste, but I was able to adjust the height because there were three pillows on the bed.

IMG_0424(6) copy

There was a TV and an arm chairs across the bed.

IMG_0424(17) copy

Bellow the TV was a cabinet with a fridge and safe inside.

IMG_0424(7) copy

There was a lamp next to the arm chair.

IMG_0424(13) copy

There was a desk by the window.

IMG_0424(19) copy

The room seen from the window.

IMG_0424(4) copy

The window was big.

IMG_0424(10) copy

I stayed on the 19th floor, so the view was amazing. Also, since the room was facing the residential area I was able to see the mountains in the distance. I enjoyed a view different from the downtown area of Las Vegas. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the sun rise from my room, but some rooms may have a nice view of the sun rise.

Hotel Surroundings

There were not many shops around the hotel. There is a convenience store attached to the gas station opposite the hotel that sells supplies cheaper than at the hotel. There is also a McDonald’s and Starbucks about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Since there are no shops nearby, the roads are dark at night so it is best to be extra carful if you are walking around.

Staff and Guests

The staff were friendly and answered my questions politely. However, sometimes they try and sell you service ticket that can be used in the hotel, so unless you need it, it is best to tell them clearly that you do not need to purchase it.

IMG_0424.jpg (5)

There is a convention center next to the hotel, so there were many business men staying. On weekends, I saw athletes wearing rugby uniforms and families staying for sports competitions.

Access

I took a taxi and Uber from the Airport. It was $35 including tax by taxi. It was about $13 by Uber, so it was cheaper than riding a taxi. It’s far from the downtown area, but there is a monorail station right next to the hotel so you can get to it in about 10 minutes. The monorails are running until 3:00am. It is better to buy a pass if you plan on riding the monorail often.

Summary

The hotel was next to the monorail station, sot it was very convenient to move around. It is not close to the downtown area, but it only takes about 10 minutes if you ride the monorail. There are not many shops and restaurants around the hotel, so it is more convenient to eat and shop in the hotel. There was a casino and a gym in the hotel, so I was able to enjoy myself in the hotel. The only issue was that the free Wi-Fi was completely useless. However, there were no other problems, so I was able to spend a comfortable time at this hotel.
