I decided to stay at "Hotel Nikko San Francisco," because it was near Union Square. It was also easy to get to Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown and other popular tourist destinations which was very convenient.

The hotel blended in well with the other buildings in the area.

The interior had been renovated and was very beautiful. The stairs and escalator will take you up to the second floor where the lobby is located.

What is the Deluxe Room like?
Guest room entrance door
There was a bathroom by the entrance.
The room was very nice. I stayed for two days, but the bed was made nicely and the room was cleaned very well both days.
The bed was a little high, but was very comfortable to sleep on. The blanket was thin for my taste.
There was a phone, alarm clock and two bottles of water on the bedside table.
There was a stuffed animal and a tray with a remote for the TV.
If you take this stuffed animal home with you, $29 will automatically be charged to your bill and get donated to dog shelters in San Francisco.
There was a TV, desk and closet across the bed.
Desk
There was a mirror, tablet, memo set and a cafe corner on the desk.
Next to the bed were two arm chairs.

The room seen from the window.
There was a large window at the back of the room. I was staying on the 21st floor, so the view was very nice. The window was a little dirty, but it did not bother me too much at night and I was able to enjoy the night view.
I could see shops at the Union Square. During winter time the sun sets at around 5pm, so I was able to enjoy the view at night for a longer period of time.

Bathroom
Bathroom door
The bathroom was very big.
There was a shower room with a foldable chair prepared.
There was an overhead shower and a removable shower. The water pressure was strong enough, but the water may be a little lukewarm for some people.
There was shampoo, conditioner and body soap prepared. The holder had wide gaps in it, so the bottles sometimes fell out.
Toilet
There was a scale under the sink.
Amenities were prepared on the shelf next to the sink.
Amenities included a mouthwash, moisturizer, cotton swabs, cotton and a shower cap. I was a little disappointed that there was no toothbrush.
There was a bathrobe and hair dryer hanging next to the door.

Hotel Surroundings
It was Christmas season, so the streets were crowded with tourists. I saw homeless people here and there, but they did not bother me. However, an area called Tenderloin that is near the hotel is said to be unsafe, so it is best to avoid walking in that neighborhood.

If you ride the BART train from San Francisco International Airport, get off at Powell Street Station you can get to the hotel in 5 minutes on foot. It was convenient to buy a clipper card (IC card) when you board the train, as it makes traveling in San Francisco easier. The closest cable car station is near Powell Street Station. In addition, I arrived at Union Square in about 5 minutes on foot from the hotel. As for shopping, a CVS was nearby, so it was convenient for buying necessary items.

Summary
I had a nice stay at this hotel. The location was good and access from the airport was very easy. It was also convenient to get to tourist spots and the cable car platform. In addition, there were many restaurants and shops in the area. I was able to spend a pleasant time inside the hotel as well. The room was cleaned well and the staff were very friendly. It is not a cheap hotel, but it is a hotel worth staying at.
