I decided to stay at the "Washington Marriott at Metro Center" because it is a Marriott hotel in Washington. Since I am a Marriott member, I generally stay at Marriott hotels when I travel. The review about the location, service and cleanliness were all good, so I though it would be the perfect hotel to stay at for my trip.

The design of the building was simple.
The entrance was big.

The lobby had a relaxed atmosphere.
I did not have to wait in line to check-in.
There was a concierge desk next to the front desk. Also, there were computers and printers to print out your plane tickets.
You can sit and relax on the sofa.

What is the Two Double Bed Room like?

There was a bathroom and closet on the right.
The room had a calm atmosphere. There was plenty of space in the room even with two beds. There was everything I needed in in the room and I was able to spend a comfortable time. The walls were thick and it was very quiet in the room.
There were two double size beds with four pillows prepared on top. The mattress and covers felt nice and I was able to sleep very well.

There were outlets next to the desk which were useful for charging my devices.
There was an arm chair and table by the window.

The hotel is located in downtown, so it was surrounded by buildings.
There was no veranda.
The streets were crowded with cars, but the noise did not bother me.

Bathroom
There was a sink, toilet and a shower in the bathroom.
The bathtub was shallow.
The shower head was fixed on the wall and was a little hard to wash, but the water pressure was just right.
There was shampoo, conditioner and body soap prepared next to the shower.

Closet and safe
The closet was next to the bathroom.
There was an iron and ironing board in the closet.
There was also a baggage rack.

Mini bar and cafe
There was a cafe corner on the desk with a coffee machine, paper cups, drip coffee, tea bags, milk, sugar, muddler and so on. There were two types of teas; chamomile and English breakfast tea.
The water bottles were charged.
There was a fridge, but nothing was prepared inside.

Restaurants and shops in the hotel
There was a restaurant called “Fire and Sage” on the first floor.
It was a quiet and relaxed restaurant. The staff were very friendly.
There was also a bar in the restaurant.
I had both dinner and breakfast here.
It is not a buffet and you order from the menu.
I had french toast and fruit for breakfast and it was delicious.

A small shop in the hotel.
They were selling snacks, drinks and daily necessities which was very convenient.

Facilities in the hotel
There was an indoor pool on the 3rd floor. It was a simple pool that seemed more suitable for exercising.
There were chairs and tables by the pool.
Towels were prepared by the pool, so you can come empty handed.
The gym was very big with many exercise equipments prepared.
There was a business center with computers and printers.
Stationaries were prepared as well.

Hotel Surroundings
There were various shops around the hotel such as apparel shops, drug stores, cafes, restaurants, bakeries and department stores. “Whole Foods” was about a 5 minute drive away by car. The metro station is also nearby, so it is convenient for getting around places. It is a business district, so there were less people walking around on the streets on weekends. It was a safe neighborhood near the White House.

The staff were all cheerful and helpful. There were many guests staying on business trips and I did not see tourists or families staying.

Access
It took about 40 minutes by car from Washington Dulles International Airport. There are cafes and restaurants around the hotel and it is in a very convenient location. The White House is about 10 minutes away on foot and I think it is a safe neighborhood. Since there is a metro station near the hotel, it is convenient to travel around by train. This is a hotel perfect for both sightseeing and for business.

Summary
I had a nice stay at this hotel. Although it is a little far from the airport, it is a convenient location for sightseeing and for business. As I mentioned earlier, there are various shops around the hotel, so I was able to get whatever I needed very easily. There is the Smithsonian Museum, White House and the Houses of Parliament that you can visit. It was also very comfortable in the hotel. It was very quiet and relaxing. The atmosphere was nice, the food was good and I had a very nice time here.
