I was looking for Marriott hotels in the Thousand Oaks area, and found “TownePlace Suites by Marriott Thousand Oaks Ventura County.” It was close to the highway exit and there were restaurants around the hotel.
What is the appearance of the hotel? Check the entrance and reception
The hotel was a beige colored building surrounded by trees which is built along the highway.
The entrance has an umbrella-like roof like an ordinary house.

There were beautiful flowers and a welcome drink prepared by the entrance.
Since the hotel is built on a hill, only the reception and breakfast space were on the first floor, and the rooms were on the second floor and the third floor.

What is the Studio Room like?
Guest room entrance door.
There was a closet by the entrance. Next to that was a mirror and a place to put your keys.
The room was like an apartment. It was honestly small and there was a big TV popping out into the hallway that did not fit the room size.
The room felt small for two people, but because it was new and beautiful, it was not a problem.
The bed was a little too fluffy for my taste. The sheets were clean.

The desk was a compact size.
There were a lot of shelves around the desk.
I was able to open the window half way.
The view from the room was only of the parking lot.

Bathroom
The bathroom was next to the bedroom.
The shower and the bathtub were together. The shower head was fixed on the wall and there was no problem with the water pressure and drainage.
It was a little hard to open the cabinet doors under the sink.
Amenities were prepared on the sink. Marriott’s usual contents included large and small solid soaps, makeup remover, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. Quality was average.

Closet and safe
There was plenty of storage space in the closet, and there was a space in the back for a hanging clothes and a towel separated by a net. This closet was connected to the closet in the bathroom. There were hangers, an iron, an ironing board, laundry bags, and etc.

Kitchen
There was a kitchen on the left just after entering the room. There was a sink, electric stove, microwave oven and a dishwasher.
There was a large fridge, but nothing was inside.
There were toasters, coffee maker, coffee, tea, salt and pepper prepared on the kitchen table. There were also two free bottles of water.

Eggs and sausages.
Waffle maker.
Fruits and cupcakes.
The taste was normal.
There was a shop in front of the front desk. They were selling snacks and drinks. I saw many people buying ice cream and taking it up the their rooms.

Facilities in the hotel
The hotel had an outdoor pool. The pool was surrounded by a fence and trees. However, the pool was close to many of the rooms.
There was also a jacuzzi next to the pool. In addition, there was a BBQ stove, and a full set could be borrowed at the front desk. There is also a table next to the stove, so if you’re tired of eating out, you can do BBQ here.
There was a gym on the second floor.
There was a laundry room next to the gym.

Environment around the hotel
The town was beautiful in an area surrounded by leisurely hills. I saw many young people because a university was nearby, and everyone was well mannered. I didn’t see any homeless peopele around.

Staff and customer base
Every time I passed by in front of the front desk, the staff greeted me. When I requested a late checkout and wanted to go shopping, they kindly kept my bags at the front desk.
Most people were staying on a business trip. There were many people staying for a long time for a company training as well.

Access
The hotel is about an hour away from Los Angeles Airport. There was a restaurant across the street so I could walk over. There was also a supermarket within walking distance as well.This city is said to be one of the safest city in the United States, so it was very clean and I did not see any homeless people. The city bus was very clean as well. It was nice to be able to go to the delicious and cheap SUMO Sushi. Also, while my husband went to work, I went to a chain gym by bus. It was convenient because I got a transit ticket and I had easy access for only $1.50.

The city bus was clean, the driver was friendly, and it was not crowded.

Summary
The hotel was all sold out when I stayed, and I did not get an upgrade and it was a single bedroom as reserved, so it felt extremely narrow for me.The restaurant was right in front of the hotel, and the location was good. Town Place is a type of hotel with a kitchen, so there are many people who stayed for a long time. The hotel was quiet during the day and I was able to use the gym and pool alone. Every time I passed by the front desk, the staff spoke to me and the hotel had a homey feeling. I hope that I will be able to stay in a larger room the next time I visit.
