The reason why I chose "The New Yorker A Wyndham Hotel" is because it is built in a convenient location. Being in the center of Manhattan, the main station, Pennsylvania Station and the 34th Street Penn Station of the subway is just around the corner, so I thought it would be easy to go sightseeing. The hotel was built in the 1920s and has an art deco interior and the rooftop has a NEW YORKER neon sign, which is often seen in movies and posters as one of the representative buildings of Manhattan.

The hotel is 40 stories tall with 1,050 rooms, and I was not able to see the top of the hotel from the street.
There was a doorman standing at the entrance, but because the doors were revolving doors, people just walked in casually.
There was a big chandelier hanging in the middle of the lobby.

What is the Twin Bed Room like?
Guest room door.
The entrance way seen from the inside of the room.
Because this is a historical hotel, the rooms were old, but it was cleaned very well. It was a chic and calm room, which was relaxing to stay in. The room was bigger than I imagined and there was enough space to open up my luggage. There was only indirect lighting, so the room was a little dark, but the night view from the window was beautiful. I could hear noise from the next door due to the walls being thin.
The bed mattress was thick and just the right hardness, which was comfortable to sleep on. There were four pillows.
There was a bedside table between the two beds with an alarm, phone and a memo set.
Next to the bed was a TV and a desk.

There were two chairs and a table across the bed.

There was a long and narrow window by to the bed with a perfect view of the Empire State Building.
At night, the Empire State Building was lit up in many different colors, and I enjoyed looking at it every day. In the morning, I could see buildings under construction, people walking by in a hurry, and a full view of Manhattan.

Bathroom
There was a shower with a bathtub.
The bathroom was small, but there was enough space for two people to fit in.
The shower was fixed on the wall, but the water pressure could be adjusted.
Since the temperature could adjusted with a lever, it was easy to handle. It took about 15 seconds for hot water to come out, so cold water came out at first.
Toilet.
Sink.
There was a bar of soap, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner in the cupboard above the toilet. It was a mini size prepared for two people. Everything smelled very nice. It was a pity that there was no toothbrush. Towels (bath towels, face towels and hand towels) are prepared for two days for two people. New towels were brought in two days later.
There were paper cups in a bag.

Closet and safe
There was a closet.
The closet was spacious and big enough for two people to use. There were many hangers prepared which was convenient.

There was a gym on the first floor only for guests staying at the hotel. It is open 24 hours a day.
There was also a business center on the first floor with computers and printers.

Hotel surroundings
The hotel is located in the center of Manhattan, so I was able to experience living in a city that never sleeps. You can walk to Broadway in about 15 minutes on foot, and it seemed safe because there were tourists, people coming to watch musicals and cars passing by all the time. Unfortunately, because it is a big city, the smell of exhaust gases and garbage was awful.

Staff and guests
The staff were working hard and responded to my request with a smile. There were three large male staff standing by the elevator, checking the guests key cards which made me feel very safe.
There were more elderly guests staying compared to young guests. I didn’t see many children. The guests were all very calm.

Access
Because the hotel was located about 5 minutes on foot from Pennsylvania Station, access from the airport was very good. It was just around the main station, and there were many shops and people walking, so it was a lively atmosphere from morning to evening. I heard sirens going off in the middle of the night, and this might bother some people. There were two large pharmacies near the hotel, and there was a large selection of sweets, so it was very convenient to buy souvenirs. Luxury department stores such as Macy’s and Hudson Yard were also within walking distance. The subway station is just outside the hotel, and the hotel is in the middle of Manhattan, so it was easy to get to many tourist destinations.

Summary
I had a nice stay at this hotel. I think it’s easy to find a hotel that is well balanced in terms of price, location and room size in Manhattan. Wi-Fi worked fast and it was also a safe hotel. Above all, the subway station was very close and it was easy to go anywhere which was very convenient. You can stay in your room until the last minute before going to the Pennsylvania Station, because the hotel is close. Also, I was able to enjoyed the lively atmosphere of New York and the night view of Manhattan while staying at this hotel.
