I decided to stay at the "Red Lion Hotel Roslin Iwo Jima" because it was easily accessible from Washington, DC. The hotels in Washington DC are all expensive, but this hotel was relatively cheap because it is located in Virginia. In addition, the room was large with a bathtub, so I thought that it would be a good place to get some rest.

The hotel was built like a large two-story apartment, and I was worried if it was safe enough.
Hotel faces the street, but because the parking lot is at the front, the sound of cars did not bother me.

What is the Queen Room like?
Guest room entrance door.
The walls were thin, so I could not feel comfortable in the room. I was not expecting much from the room, because I was always going to be out. I only stayed for one night, but I do not think that I would want to stay for a long time.
As soon as I entered the room there were two queen size beds and a bathroom at the back of the room. The room was very spacious.
The bed was comfortable to sleep on and it was also large enough.
There was a TV across from the bed.
There was a dresser next to the TV.
The room seen from the bathroom. The interior was simple but classy.
There were two chairs by the window.
The windows faces the corridor, so when I opened the curtains, I could see people walking by.
The view from the room was of the parking lot.

There was a bathroom at the back of the room. The bathroom was cleaned very well, but I was disappointed that there was a bug crawling around.
There was a small sink next to the bathtub.
I was able to relax in the bathtub.
The shower head was fixed on the wall, and the water pressure was strong enough.
Toilet.
Plenty of towels were prepared. They were very fluffy.
The sink was spacious. There were no amenities prepared.

Environment around the hotel
It was a hotel facing the main street, but the noise did not bother me at all. The other side is a quiet residential area. However, I noticed that Roslin is a hilly town. Even just a 10 minute walk to the restaurant tired me out. The nearest station, Roslin Station, was about a 10-minute walk away, and supermarkets, drug stores, and restaurants were all around the station. A restaurant serving crab was very popular. The area around the hotel seemed pretty safe, but it is best not to go out at night alone.

Staff and customer base
I only interacted with the staff during check-in and check-out, but I did not have any issues with them. However, even though I asked for a baby bed when I booked the room, it was not prepared, so I was a little disappointed.
There were many couples staying to go sightseeing. There were many people in their 30s to 50s. There were also many students staying as well. I did not see anyone with a baby.

Access
There are three airports near Washington DC, but it is convenient because it is about 10 minutes by car from Ronald Reagan Airport closest to DC, or one by Metro. It takes about 30 minutes by car to Washington Dulles Airport, and there is also an airport bus from the nearby Roslin Station, so I think it’s a very convenient location. IWO JIMA, the origin of the hotel’s name, comes from the United States Marine Corps Monument, and it is about a 10-minute walk to this monument. Other than that, you can get to Washington DC within 15 minutes by riding the Metro to various museums in Washington DC, so if you want to explore Washington DC but want to stay at a cheaper hotel, this is the perfect hotel.

Summary
This hotel was not bad. It was nice that the room was cheap. In addition, access to Washington DC was good, and it was attractive that it was easy to go to the main tourist spots by riding the Metro. Because access to airport is good, I think it is a good hotel to stay at to get some sleep. On the contrary, the bad point was that the facility was older than in the photos. The corridor to the room is outside, and it felt like I was staying at an apartment. If you are looking to stay at a reasonable hotel, I recommend staying at this hotel.
