Detailed review & photos “Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort”

The appearance seemed a bit outdated. The color such of the wall was slightly faded. In front of the hotel there was a large tree.

The inside was very narrow due to construction. However, the inside was not old, and it was beautiful.

The front desk is also clean and simple like a business hotel rather than a luxury hotel.

There is also an information desk near the front desk. You can ask for information on tourist destinations in Cairns and apply for a tour. The staffs are present until night time so you can ask about sightseeing and the city.

The room was cleaned well. However, the wall was thin and the hotel next door was under construction, so I was worried about the noise.

There is a large TV opposite the bed.

There was a chair and a table by the window. However, I could not relax because chair was made of straw and did not have a backrest.

Next to the TV was a desk, a chair, a cafe corner and a shelf with a fridge.

There were two queen size beds. I was able to sleep on the bed comfortably. It is also nice that there are three pillows prepared per bed.

There was a veranda.

It was a wide space suitable for drying clothes.

The view was not good because the room was on the second floor and on the other side of the sea.

There was a bathtub in the bathroom. I wanted to hand wash my laundry and dry it in the bathroom, but the ventilation was broken so I had to hang them outside.

The bathtub was very shallow. You will need to lay down to be able to soak your whole body in the water.

There was no particular problem with the water pressure, but it was disappointing that only lukewarm water came out.

The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, soap, body soap and tissue. The shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were in a tube the size of a toothpaste, so I had to go to the front desk to ask for more. Toothpaste was a brand called Cortex.

There was also a hair dryer.

The closet was just to the left of the entrance door. The closet door was a mirror and it was convenient.

In the closet there were a non-removable hanger, a shelf and a safe.

There was also an iron and an ironing board in the closet.

The safe is a type which you set your own security number.

The cafe corner has an electric kettle, two coffee cups, a spoon, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate powder and black tea tea bags, and five packs of skimmed milk instead of milk for coffee. There will be more added during room service. Hot chocolate and coffee are Nescafe and Copico.

There was nothing in the refrigerator.

There was a restaurant called “Mizuna Restaurant” in the hotel.

I did not eat at the restaurant, but the inside was luxurious, but a family friendly restaurant at the same time.

There was also terrace seat facing the pool, and the atmosphere was nice there.

At night the lights of the hotel were very nice and the atmosphere was very good. The pool is open until 22:00 so you can enjoy the night pool as well.

The guests were mostly Western European families. There were a lot of families with young children. There is a swimming pool in the facility, and there is also a market and the sea nearby, so I think it is suitable for family travel.

Because the hotel is built in the city area, there are many facilities around. Cairns is a compact city with a night market, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, so it’s a good place to walk around. I think it is a very good hotel in terms of cost and location.
